How is R B Forgings positioned in the forging market? Please walk us through the overall journey of the company.
The R.B. Group of Companies offers excellence in forging, machining, gear cutting, and assemblies. The R.B. Group offers experience, expertise, and execution in forged products providing a one-stop shop for forged engineered parts, forged gears, machined forgings, and assemblies. Formed in 1993, the R B Group has grown steadily, initially within India, and became International in 2015 with the acquisition of Shakespeare Forgings Limited in the U.K.
Moreover, the forging, machining, and gear-cutting plants are situated in Chandigarh and North Delhi. Shakespeare Forgings is based in Cradley Heath, W. Midlands, the U.K., and acts both as a manufacturing base, finished engineering parts from its sister companies in India and as a warehousing and logistics facility for the group's sales in Europe. The R B group supplies a wide range of high integrity, safety-critical steel parts to various key market sectors, including automotive, petrochemical, rail, and tractor manufacture.

Through a strategic internal investment program, R.B. We have worked with many clients, and one such client is the makers of the Swaraj brand of Tractors. His head of purchase called me one afternoon and requested to manufacture forged pin within days, not weeks. We started working on this project, and after many discussions, we realized we could make these pins within three hours. We completed this project before time and became one of the company's prime suppliers of forged and machined components.
What is the future roadmap of the company in the years ahead?
We started as a small organization with a capital of Rs.20 Lakhs in 1993, which is today a Rs.150 Cr Indian multinational, with close to 350 employees on board. Today, R B Forgings has a client base as diverse as Land Rover, Mahindra and Mahindra, GKN, Richer, International Tractors Limited, Olympus Global, and Metal Castello. To many organizations, we are the single source of supply.
We are aggressively looking at other options to acquire companies in Germany and Spain. This is because my business philosophy is that since almost all employees spend 8-10 hours in the office, amenities should be made available to the staff so that they can enjoy the work and be happy. Today, our senior professionals take care of the business, enabling me to take off for a couple of months without being bothered.
Furthermore, in the near future, our vision is to be one of the leading automobile component suppliers, of world-class manufacturing, with a turnover reaching Rs.300 Cr by the year 2022, serving the existing customers well. On the drawing board are plans to develop a couple of products, especially in the hydraulic segment, and get a foothold into the defense market as it opens up.
