The government's initiatives and domestic manufacturing promotions are strengthening the steel market. Initiatives such as 'Make-in-India' and 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' contribute significantly to sustainable development. To elevate the nation's economic development Pulkit Metals Private Limited (PMPL) emerged as the foremost enterprise in South India to manufacture corrosion-resistant steel TMT rods. With IS 1786 accreditation (2003) and ISO 9001S-2000 certification (2006), the Pulkit Group is headquartered in Chennai with plants in different locations in the south.
These rods are built using corrosion-resistant materials and special thermomechanical treatment."Our journey began in the 1980s; we saw a gap between big industries and scrap traders. In response, we established strong relationships with several furnace manufacturers across South India. Since the inception, we have prioritized an uncompromising standard for quality. This obsession has enabled us to become the leading TMT and CRS manufacturers in South India by volume and turnover", says Vinod Garg, Founder, Pulkit TMT.
Practices Cutting-edge Technology
PMPL values the highest quality steel, subjected to stringent quality checks throughout manufacturing. For instance, the Electrotherm induction heater regulates billet temperature for TMT rolling.
The company's vertical rolling machine, which is unique in India, maintains billet orientation, improving precision and quality. Thermex technology evenly cools and perfects TMT quenching. PMPL's automated cooling bed eliminates TMT stacking, allowing individual cooling while maintaining the pristine ring structure of the TMT cross-section. These cutting-edge cooling technologies position PMPL as India's leading supplier.
Moreover, the signature bars offered by PMPL are Fe550, used for large-scale projects, especially in coastal, marine, and subsurface environments due to its increased tensile strength. Fe550D bars are thermomechanically treated corrosion-resistant steel bars, making them suitable in coastal areas & industrial zones.
One of the strong TMT grades Fe600 is used in developing heavy-duty projects, such as expressways, and metro projects, as it offers exceptional tensile strength and ensures less steel congestion within the reinforcement. CRS TMT, or corrosion-resistant steel thermomechanically treated bars, has a longer life than regular bars, and their cross-ribbed property leads to strong reinforcement with concrete. They are cost-effective, have higher flexibility and bending ability, and are effortlessly weldable."One key aspect that distinguishes PMPL from competitors is our integrated steel plant. We directly source raw materials from various multinational sources and process them in stages. This gives us the flexibility and power to control the quality of the product and deliver higher standards", says Vinod.
Client Orientation
The PLPM customer engagement journey commences with the initial contact or discovery stage, where potential customers show interest or approach promotional materials. Later, the proposal stage addresses customer needs, followed by the implementation or purchase stage, when the agreed-upon solution or items are delivered in phases. Decisively, the organization maintains client communication and assistance to ensure long-term satisfaction.
Customer engagement methods aggressively use current distributors, dealers, and key influencers to acquire insights into client demands. PLPM considers its partners as touchpoints for feedback and to understand the market. In addition, PLPM addresses industry challenges by implementing strategies such as offering convenient and transparent pricing structures that aid customers and dealers with personalized service, feedback mechanisms, and continuous improvement efforts to strengthen customer loyalty.
Conclusively, PLPM values its employees and supports their ideas and opinions to take the business forward. Further, the company intends to advance the business by investing in sponge iron, electricity, a steel melting shop, and expanding the capacity of the Kalahasti plant. PLPM development objectives include digitalizing systems and processes with data to explore new markets by upgrading systems with the latest technology and a dynamic workforce with a sales force connected to consumers and a first-party database.
