Lubricants industry is set to grow at a Compound Annual Growth Rate of 5 per cent till 2025. However, the major obstacle hindering its growth is that testing the product and showing the results is a time consuming process. In order to solve this problem, the companies need to test the product in a quicker way. This is where Pune based Pratap Tex-Chem Pvt. Ltd. offers a unique solution. It is the only Indian company which has its own microbiology lab wherein the products are tested and the results are seen at a much faster pace when compared with other companies.
When asked about the quality of the products, Kunal Marathe, Marketing Director of Pratap Tex-Chem says, “We make sure that the Quality Policy is in place and is being followed without any excuse. We make sure of this with our ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and other systems that include regulatory checks at every interval”. The company has collaborated with Germany and UK based additive suppliers in order to meet advanced technology requirements. The firm also has a wide distributor network covering all zones and tie-ups with transport companies in order to be cost-effective and efficient in delivery.
The company has around 80 to 90 industrial products excluding its automotive and agricultural products. It has its own Quality control, R&D team and a well-equipped manufacturing facility at Pune. The company also takes care of both product and service segments in order to have better coordination.
The company has increased its capacity to almost 300 tons and sustained year-on-year growth rate of 20 percent to 25 per cent and also has a stable credit rating (D&B).
Expanding the business

Keeping in mind the need to reduce global warming, the goal of launching Lubeco was to reduce the carbon footprint of the industry as a whole. The “Fluidmate” brand was launched in order to speed up the process of oil skimming. The company has also launched the automotive oil brand “Supergen” which has variants of engine oils available in mineral, semi-synthetic and fully synthetic variants. The company has also unveiled agri chemicals brand “Krushagra” in 2020.

Envisaging the future of the company, Kunal says, “We are now focusing on expanding our customer base in all three segments by doing online and ground promotions, increasing distributor network across India and Asia, participation in exhibitions such as Ho Chi Minh and Dhaka, expanding our sales and technical team, investing in infrastructure like plant and machinery and land, automation, software upgrade, product development and more technical tie-ups.”
