Since the past decade, the automotive industry has been majorly transitioning towards rotomolded fuel tanks owing to the better possibility of adopting complex design and shapes, great consistency in manufactured parts matched with exceptional quality and technological advantage of easily complying to the emission norms and standards. Majorly installed in a variety of diesel-fueled commercial vehicles including tractors and other off-road vehicles, the Indian OEMs have also shown interest in Manufacturing oto-molded fuel tanks.
However, with limited suppliers of specialty Polyethylene located in the distant U.S.A and Europe, procurement of the specialty material for manufacturing fuel tanks has been a major challenge for the Indian OEMs. This is what influenced Venkit Mahadevan to conceive the idea of Polymerlink India, for supplying high performance Rotational Moulding Materials to the Indian OEMs; thereby cutting off the dependency on imported materials and considerably decreasing the procurement time for the Indian OEMs and molders from whopping 90 days to 3 days on an average.
According to Venkit Mahadevan, Founder Director of Polymerlink India, “At Polymerlink, we have developed our own technology and systems, which are at par with international standards and requirements that enable us deliver high-quality products to our clients.”
State-of-the-art facility
Incorporated in the year 2020, Polymerlink India is
known for its state-of-the-art facility. The firm has strategically placed its manufacturing facility in Daman, to cater to the needs of the clients located in northern, central, and southern India. “Our facility in Daman is meticulously designed with the-best-in-class machinery along with the latest technology developed by the best minds of the industry,” points out Venkit Mahadevan. Polymerlink India has also established a full-fledged in-house testing and R&D facility, to ensure the highest quality standards of manufacturing, also to continue development of new materials for the industry in line with the upcoming future growth and demands.
Today, the firm delivers a wide range of rotomolding materials to its clientele, with many highly advanced and resilient products, which are manufactured by very few firms globally. The flagship product of the firm, PolyLink XL-828, for example, is a Crosslink Polyethylene which is a special grade with exceptional properties, meant for manufacturing Fuel Tanks. The grade is tested and validated and is compliant with international regulations for such materials particularly for the Automotive industry.
