The global submersible pumps market size is expected to grow at a CAGR of 6.7 per cent and is projected to reach a size of $15.5 billion by 2025 as per a report by MarketsandMarkets. The rapid urbanization leading to increased investments in the construction industry and also the high demand for submersible pumps in the agricultural sector are the key factors that are driving the growth of the submersible pumps market. However, with the increasing demand for modified submersible pumps, the necessity of R&D in this field has gained prominence.
This is precisely where the expertise of Mumbai based Poly products which was started in the year 1988 comes into play. Poly Products has a dedicated R&D team that has launched various products for the pump industry like the Pump Volute Chamber Body in engineering plastics for 0.5 HP and 1 HP, being the first in the Indian pump Industry to do so. Also, every year they produce 2 to 3 new varieties in 4 inch, 6 inch, open well & monoblock components.
When asked about the production and infrastructure, the Managing Director and Founder of Poly Products, K.V. Anilkumar says, “We invest
in machinery and infrastructure and retain the best talents. Having an in-house tool room with the best in industry CAD/CAM software along with our years of association and experience in pump Industry helps us design and develop tools in a short time”.
The company’s tool room machinery includes CNC Milling Machine, Lathe, Radial Drilling Machine, EDM, Milling Machine, Surface Grinder, Cylindrical Grinding Attachment etc. Other than these, mould development and mould maintenance are done in-house. The company has also introduced pump parts in Noryl Natural shade which have been received well in the pump industry.
“We are manufacturers and suppliers of pump parts made of engineering plastics, catering to all the major OEM’s (Original Equipment Manufacturer) in the pump industry for the last 32 years. Over this period of time we have converted a multitude of Metal casting components to engineering plastic components for getting better results like better performance, weight reduction & making the components such that they won’t react with hard water, won’t react with aggressive liquid & will be anti-corrosive. We converted open well and monoblock impellers into engineering plastic for the first time in India. We are also suppliers for industrial products like Air Filter components, Water meter components, valves, industrial gears and other electronic components,” says Anilkumar.
Having an in-house tool room with the best in industry CAD/CAM software along with our years of association and experience in pump Industry helps us design and develop tools in a short time.
The company has also introduced pump impellers made in PPS (Polyphenylene sulfide) to withstand high temperature especially during dry run of submersible pumps, thereby reducing the high repair costs.
Sharing the future plans for the company, Anilkumar says, “The demand in India is increasing considerably. In order to meet these demands, we are in the process of establishing a second production unit at Palghar district by the end of the year. This second unit will expand our production capacity helping us be recognized as the leading plastic parts manufacturer and supplier.”
