In January 2011, IMTEX, Octagon won the FIE Foundation Award under the category of Innovative Technology for the development of the Crankshaft Metrology system. In the last year Octagon supplied fully automatic Gauge block comparator system to National Metrology Centre Singapore, which can perform calibration of complete set of Gauge block in just 8 ½ hrs cycle time, having measurement uncertainty less than 0.05µm.
Presently the organization has 70 percent business in the domestic market and about 30 percent export market. “Our major customers are from various sectors of industries including gauge & machine tool manufacturers, automobile & aerospace industries, national metrology institutes of various countries.” says Vivek Ghodke, MD, Octagon Precision.
