Indian users are becoming more aware of the concept of sustainability and the environmental impact of their actions, and the rise of the electric vehicle (EV) market in India is a testimony to it. To make their lives easier, EV markers are focused on product innovation to decrease the cost of EV bikes and scooters and, at the same time, address the issues of limited range, battery lifespan, and availability of service centers.
In this regard, NIJ Automotive has made huge strides and is thriving in the electric two-wheeler industry in India through its cost-effective EV scooter that runs at 10-12 paise per km and can be serviced at its dealership. “The customer complaints are addressed within the company, and the dealers are instructed accordingly to service the two-wheeler electric vehicle", says Mayank Jain, Owner of NIJ Automotive.
There are four different models offered by NIJ Automotive: Accelero Pro, Accelero R14, delta, and Accelero+. XPro is a low-speed vehicle with 12-inch front and rear wheels. Both wheels are equipped with disc brakes, and the body of the two-wheeler is sturdy.
This EV comes with LED head and tail lights as well as indicators. Anti-theft protection, built-in IoT, parking and reverse assist, and one-touch repair features make it a convenient and comfortable ride. On the other hand, Accelero R14 is a sporty and stylish EV with cruise control, and a portable charger, while Accelero+ has a digital speedometer and a USB slot. All these variants come in four different colors to choose from, as well as the battery type - Lithium Ferrous Phosphate, Lead Acid Battery, and NMC. The charging time is up to four hours; however, the range will vary according to the battery type.
From assembling the EVs one by one to manufacturing in the assembly line, NIJ Automotive is able to manufacture one vehicle every two minutes and 30 seconds. This has enabled the company to sell more vehicles per month. In the initial days, they sold 100 EVs in one month, but today they are selling 1500- 2000 vehicles monthly. Each vehicle manufactured by NIJ Automotive goes through two-stage testing to ensure quality. “In the first stage, the vehicle is checked in the assembly, and in the second stage, it is checked before the delivery", adds Jain. The efficacy of the vehicles can be gauged from the fact that the quality of the EVs delivered by NIJ Automotive is at par with the established behemoths of the EV market.

NIJ Automotive currently has a presence in Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh and aims to expand in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Orissa, and Telangana. Jain is confident that the company’s assembly line will produce more than 5000 vehicles per month this fiscal year.
While there are still some challenges to be addressed, the electric scooter industry in India is progressing in servicing and support for users. NIJ Automotive is doing its part by addressing this critical aspect of the vehicle buying experience of the users while also focussing on the quality of the EVs.
