TMT bars are one of the most important components for building infrastructure. With India emerging as one of the fastest growing economies in the world, there is going to be a lot of investment in infrastructure, since infrastructure development plays a very import¬ant role in the growth of any economy. India’s per capita steel consumption is 76 kgs which is well below the world average of 233 kgs.
To increase this to 160 kgs by 2030-31, as target¬ed in National Steel Policy, Indian steel Industry will need to grow at nine percent CAGR, and TMT will also play a significant role in achieving this target. Also, with the Central Government’s schemes like PMAY to provide housing for all, will play a significant role in helping the steel market grow.
Major problems that the customers face in this segment is quality specially rusting of TMT and timely delivery of materials. “We are very bullish on the steel Industry. Currently the crude steel production capacity in our country is approx. 125MT which the government plans to increase to 300 MT. Also with a very low per capita consumption, which currently stands at 76 kgs, our government plans to increase it to 160 kgs by 2030-31. Steel is going to be a major contributor in India’s growth story”, signs off Vimal Todi, Chairman, Moira Sariya.
This speaks volumes of the trust that Moira has built.
