The market for Oil & Gas EPC is poised to witness a rapid growth with the increasing energy consumption on account of increase in per capita power consumption, day-by-day. Despite the popularity of renewable energy, power production from oil and gas still dominates today. The EPC service providers have been playing an important role for this industry to support the infrastructural development, manufacturing processes, be it government, commercial or residential. Further, technological advancements in the recent years have also aided the growth of the market for Oil & Gas EPC.
An EPC contractor is required to provide a complete facility to a developer who simply needs to ‘turn a key’ to begin running the facility under any given contract; thus, EPC contracts are also known as turnkey construction contracts. Besides producing a full facility, the contractor must also deliver it at a optimum price by a specific date and to the stipulated degree of performance. Failure to meet any parameters will almost result in financial penalties for the contractor. The EPC contractor is responsible for coordinating all design, procurement, and construction to meet the project schedule.
