Aligning to global objectives, Pilot Industries Ltd, a 53 years old company manufactures battery plate, lead & finished batteries.
Led by Sanjeev Aggarwal, the company has over five decades made its name synonymous with best Battery (Brand “LEADER”), Battery Plates, Lead and Lead Alloys. Pilot Industries caters to the automotive sector, EV sector, industrial sector, solar and inverter sector.
“A few years back the environmental awareness was not there. However, today, considering the environment situation and increasing general public awareness, the battery market is growing and will continue to grow for the next 20 to 30
years. The government is pushing the electric vehicles as they are concerned about the environmental issues. We are also working on a project of lithiumion batteries because electric vehicle range is increasing now and that is one area where the government is focused. So, we may come with the lithiumion projects soon,” says Sanjeev Aggarwal.
With its corporate office located at New Delhi and the factory at Pant Nagar (Uttarakhand), the state-of-theart plant & all the modern machineries is a must-visit-place. The company was bestowed with gold medal in 1985- 86 by the President of India Late Shri Giyani Jail Singh from Trans World Trade Fair for its outstanding vision. “Even industries are shifting from existing conventional processes to the environment friendly processes. So, there is a huge market for batteries as these are the only power storage options available,” says Mr. Aggarwal.

Pilot Industries has been able to optimize the turnaround time (TAT) through the online services, so that the customers don’t face any kind of unreasonable post-sale barriers for replacement. TAT time for any service or quality related issue is resolved within 48 hours of complaint registration.
Marking The Present And Building The Future
Pilot Industries Ltd (Leader Battery) is manufacturing E-Rickshaw, Inverter & Solar batteries & also working on lithiumion batteries. For branding and marketing purposes, Indian actor Ajay Devgn has been hired by the company as Brand Ambassador. Leader Industries Pvt. Ltd. is approved by ASRTU and also by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). Exporting to 30+ countries, they are producing roughly 1 million batteries per year at their two major plants located in Uttarakhand and Delhi.
Leader Battery is expanding its existing capacity and planning to add new plants to achieve 3 million production units by 2024 and 5 million units by 2025. “For the last five years, our CAGR was around 75 percent. And for next year we are planning around 100 percent CAGR. We have done the bench- marking and in that benchmarking our products are superior to our competitors”, says Mr. Aggarwal.
