As organic produce is getting popular, Bio pesticides Market is rapidly expanding due to factors related to greater environmental and health awareness and regulatory pressure and retailer demands. In recent years, according to a data presented by the Union Ministry of Agriculture, between 2010–2011 and 2019-2020, the allIndia consumption of biopesticides increased (by 23 percent). The global market is projected to grow from USD 3.0 billion in 2018 to USD 6.4 billion by 2023. Consequently, over the last few years, biopesticides have attracted global attention as a safer pest control strategy for incorporation into Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programmes. Besides, in the last decade, adoption of IPM programmes has significantly enhanced pest management practices.
Reliability on chemical pesticides by farmers is still higher than expected. It is their perception towards bio pesticides as lower and variable efficacy and shorter persistence. Another inhibition is greater dependence on environmental conditions on the part of end users. Similar to the concept of Ayurveda, Bio pesticides can be slower acting meaning they are better for preventative measures as opposed to a curative method. Furthermore Biopesticides require knowledgeintensive management systems to develop and use them effectively.
“KVAT has been a dominating player in the Bio pesticides market since few years, with continuous innovations and our extensive range of organic solutions for farming needs (from organic nutrient management to pest and disease management to post harvest solutions) we continue to grow at 35 percent each year. Living up to Expectations
Many biopesticides are not considered acceptable by growers, because they are evaluated for their immediate impact on pests as they are expected
to perform like chemical pesticides. At KVAT, they have well meet the expectations by formulating Second Generation of organic pesticides. With an extensive in-house R&D (DSIR approved) team they have developed unique Nano formulations from active ingredients based on microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, nematodes or naturally-occurring substances, including plant extracts and semi-chemicals (e.g. insect pheromones).
A solid foundation of continuous research at KVAT has helped them develop unique Second Generation of products, which covers all the needs of organic growers. These products are certified by Ecocert on regular basis for organic farming. Furthermore, the products have positively impacted growers by delivering results in a very short period of its application, and wining their confidence.
