Waste management has been one of the neglected industries until now. The difference between recyclable and non-recyclable waste has perplexed the population for long. Because of the raising concerns about personal hygiene and launch of the Swachh Bharat Mission, people have slowly started understanding the different categories of waste and usage of waste bins accordingly. For this reason, there has been a rise in demand of waste bins all across the world, and more in India. It is very difficult to decide on the volume as there are various types of waste bins in demand by the industry.
KC Green is a waste bins manufacturing and production company based out of New Delhi which has made its mark in this segment by placing its waste bins in various reputed organizations. It got businesses based on references and understood that if one supplies quality product with competitive pricing, one will always have the highest market share.
The company started with an aim to do something which would favour the environment. It aimed at various products, but ended-up with segregation of waste. So, it decided to create the same. “Though it was practiced across the world, in India, people were not aware about segregation of waste at the point of collection. People who travelled to other countries were aware
about this system. Few of them accepted our idea and implemented this system in their organizations. Initially, it was difficult to sell the products. But now, people are coming to us for these kinds of dustbins. After Swachh Bharat mission, it really became easy for us,” states Naveen Chauhan, Founder, KC Green.
Steady Development All the Way
According to the founder, earlier, people used to have the perception that waste bin is a subject of nonimportance. They perceived that the garbage can be collected in any container and should be thrown to dump yard by the garbage collector. With missions like Swachh Bharat, people got educated and understood the importance of good waste bin. The company introduced the concept of color coding segregation of garbage in general commercial establishments in 2009. At that point of time, there were only few establishments who accepted the products, as they were costlier compared to the traditional containers. “There were few niche clients who could afford to buy these waste bins to match their aesthetics of building. It was a matter of pride for them to introduce such kind of concepts,” says the founder.

The Future Ahead
KC Green sees itself as the leader of waste bin manufacturing in a few years. Now, it has created the brand to such an extent that if anybody in India wants a colour coded segregation bin, KC Green will be among the popular choices. Speaking about the goodwill of the company, the founder concludes, “There are companies who have made a standard that they want only the products of Green Revolution. It makes us feel proud that we were able to create that benchmark. In next five years, certainly we look into the highest market share in this industry”.
