Quality Assurance
The iSTEEL XLS Long Life TMT Bars are manufactured from Fe-500 grade that has been enriched with a minimum of 4000 ppm Copper and several other corrosion resistant elements. According to the CEO, homes that are built with ordinary TMT bars don’t survive for more than 50-60 years. iSTEEL believes that homes should last longer and should be enjoyed for generations. “iSTEEL XLS TMT bars add 17 percent longer life to the buildings built using it. We make a special alloy of steel with the desired quantity of copper, nickel and chromium,” says Reddy.
Ready Made Steel being one of the growing requirements in the developed countries, iSTEEL has developed the perfect product for it. The usage of iSTEEL Ready Made steel ensures zero material wastage that helps save up to eight percent of the construction costs. In short, it speeds up the construction and brings down the cost at the same time.
iSTEEL ready-made rings are bent to standard size for use in beams and columns as per BIS specifications and have the capability to offer better earthquake resistance than rings that are made on site.
“iSTEEL’s computer-controlled TMT process ensures high quality water quenching thus giving the TMT bar excellent elasticity along the entire length of the bar. Minimum elongation of 18 percent and Uniform elongation of minimum 6 percent gives the bars excellent bend and rebound capabilities, which are critical for seismic areas. Buildings built with iSTEEL XLS TMT bars have a better capacity to absorb the energy generated by earthquakes, resulting in higher evacuation time,” states Reddy.

Current Growth and Future Plans
iSTEEL has experienced a total turnover of 400 Crore in INR in the last financial year which has further inspired them to double their production capacity to 2.40 lakh tonnes. The management is certain that doubling the production will also result in double revenue in the coming financial year.
The company’s innovative approach towards steel marketing has attracted a clientele comprising reputed players of the industry that include L&T, East Coast Construction, IVRCL, Tata Consultancy Services, DLF, Prestige and URC among several others. Speaking about the future plans for iSTEEL, Reddy concludes, “We are in the process of debottlenecking our plant to increase the production, improve quality and reduce our production cost. We are also in talks to launch our brand iSTEEL XLS in Bangalore and Hyderabad to become a dominant regional branded TMT player in South India.”
