Sports equipments manufacturers are the unsung heroes of the sports industry, providing athletes with the weapons required to conquer their opponents. Whether it's a tennis racquet, a football helmet, or any other equipment that can spell the difference between victory and defeat, these manufacturers are responsible for making it all possible.
Ha Ko Engineering, founded by Harish Patel and established in 1978, is a shining example of such innovation. The firm’s sports ground equipment has earned a reputation as one of the best in the business, with clients that include the BCCI and even international organizations.
With Pritesh Patel's (Harish Patel's son) contribution, Ha Ko introduced India's first-ever bowling machine in 2001, revolutionizing cricket training. Since then, these machines have become essential for enhancing batting and fielding skills, used by Indian cricket associations, private clubs, and academies. Another approved supplier of these machines to international cricket associations is the Exclusive Distributor of the UK brand 'Bola.'
“We are the first and only company to manufacture professional lawn care equipment, including rideon lawn tractor mowers, Pitch 550 Zero cut mowers, and rideon Outfield 760 cylinder blade mowers under their Lawncare brand in India. Our mowers offer superior precision and are suitable for homeowners, landscapers, and sports ground managers”, speaks Pritesh Patel, Managing Director, Ha Ko Engineering.
The firm is the first Indian company to offer superior topquality hydrostatic transmissions (Auto-Gear) in all product lines that are both efficient & designed to run for longer hours. “Our 'TIGER' brand Static Tandem Diesel Roller is a showstopper, available in both mechanically and hydrostatically operated models, and capable of handling loads of up to 3000 kgs”, says Pritesh. Ha Ko's product line includes the Static Single Wheel Walk Behind Hydraulic Roller, powered by a petrol engine, for high performance and reliability.
The firm also offers Hand Rollers in different sizes and Lawn Mowers in ride-on and walk-behind models, with rotary and cylinder-type zero-cut options. Ha Ko provides 'Aquasoakers (Super Sopper)' in 6ft, 4ft, and 3ft sizes for effectively removing water from sports grounds. Its new Battery Operated Gravity Advance Bowling Machine can be controlled wirelessly through an Android app, allowing adjustment of the machine's speed, swing, and spin from a mobile or tablet device.
Ha Ko Industries was formed in 2021 by merging four companies and establishing a new manufacturing facility in Vasai for in-house design and production. The company exports products to the USA, the Middle East, and many Asian countries, and plans to expand by partnering with sports associations and developing an international distributor network. The company boasts a long list of satisfied customers, such as BCCI, Mumbai Cricket Association, Wankhede Stadium, Brabourne Stadium, Sports Authority (Gandhinagar), MIG Cricket Club, Baroda Cricket Association, and National Cricket Academy in Bangalore, among others.

“Our Cricket Pitch Rollers, Aquasoakers, and Lawn Mowers have been supplied to various overseas cricket grounds, including Bangladesh Cricket Board, Singapore Cricket Association, Malaysian Cricket Association, Cricket Association of Nepal, and Emirates Cricket Board, through ACC and ICC's Development Programme - Asia region. It is a matter of pride for us that our equipment is widely used by groundsmen both in India and abroad, with over 1100 rollers and nearly 150 aquasoakers currently in use.
We offer our own brand 'Gener' Engine to provide high-performance and powerful products for various applications such as Rollers, Aquasoakers, and Mowers”, adds Pritesh. Ha Ko also plans to launch the EV-Rollers & EVMowers battery-powered instead of Engines as EVs produce Zero emissions, with low sound & low maintenance. With the firm's prototype models already put to field test for the last 18 months, its plan is to start production by the end of 2023 offering the ‘EV Sports Ground equipment’.
