From humble beginnings manufacturing garment packing accessories in 1995 to becoming one of India’s most trusted PET & PVC films & thermoformed packaging producers, AVI Global Plast’s journey of growth is an example of seasoned entrepreneurship, risk-appetite and technology investments made to lead the way as a responsible and reliable packaging partner.
Over the past two decades, the company has garnered market competitiveness by building on its vertically-integrated film extrusion and thermoforming capabilities to deliver PET & PVC-based offerings with quicker turn-around time, higher quality control, and reliable machine performance. "We stay keen on servicing our partners’ packaging needs in a manner that instils greater trust and supply chain comfort", says Akhilesh Bhargava, Managing Director at AVI Global Plast.
The company today specializes in rigid packaging applications across over 10 consumer and industrial segments, from food & medical device packaging to custom sheet grades for printing, thermoforming & boxes, clocking in annual sales of Rs.2.6 billion from marquee clients across six continents.
AVI Global has voluntarily adopted international quality and environmental management standards to deliver superior packaging functionality more sustainably. The company has digitized its supply chain for recycled packaging to provide full transparency and traceability of waste, from origin to impact. Akhilesh points to such developments as being a reflection of AVI’s commitment to operational and product excellence. According to him, what sets AVI apart is its readiness with a diverse portfolio of thermoformed packaging marketed under Prime, a globally recognized
brand that caters to recyclable and recycled PET packaging needs for food and fresh produce.
Through continued investments focused on material and design optimization, the company has introduced market-first offerings with value-added benefits such as tamper-evident and tamper-proof containers that impart higher quality assurance and consumer confidence. Another example is its egg trays featuring up to 90 percent recycled content and secure snap-locks that prevent breakages and food waste while making handling easy.
For helping its customers double up their packaging sustainability impact, AVI Global is also ready with certified ocean-bound PET-based offerings and strongly supports the momentum towards designing packaging with certified ocean-bound plastic i.e. plastic within 50 km from coastlines, destined to shores.
In the past four years, AVI Global has retained the position of being India’s sole supplier for its heat-seal punnet design, now introduced with side vents for better shelf-life and care of delicate grapes and berries during transit. This exclusive 90 percent rPET punnets has been downgauged from 20g to 16g to match weight reduction targets adopted by UK’s leading thermoformers and supermarkets such as Tesco. AVI actively supports brands, exporters, and retailers in the region in meeting ambitious sustainability goals targeting reduced virgin plastic use and an increased percentage of ethically-sourced recycled content.
