India’s textile manufacturing industry has enjoyed sustainable growth over the last few decades. Many key players in this industry are creating a differentiated value proposition by focusing on quality rather than quantity to contribute to this growth and enabling India to maintain its leading position as the sixth-largest garment. Amtex Industries, one of the top-10 clothing manufacturers in the NCR region, manufactures and exports quality apparels for ladies, kids, & men and fashion accessories.
The company primarily manufactures and exports garments of knit and woven fabrics with natural, synthetic and new-age sustainable yarns and fabrics. It also is a manufacturer and exporter of fashion accessories including bags, belts and scarves. To create new designs and explore new ideas, Amtex Industries has an exciting in-house design studio.
“With an in-house design studio, we constantly experiment and develop new concepts, fabrics and collections that are inspired by Europe’s most directional trends and forecasts”, says Mohit Gupta, proprietor of the manufacturing company. The products designed by the NCR based manufacturer are sold at leading department and boutique stores across the globe.
The family business was started in 1961 by exporting Ivory Artifacts to USSR in the 60s and
70s and Indian handicrafts across the globe and now exports garments and fashion accessories to six continents. Over the last three years, despite the pandemic, the business has achieved a growth of 20 percent CAGR. To foster this growth, AMTEX keeps adding new product lines at competitive prices. The business has a strong supplier base as they source from the remotest parts of India. “We believe in strengthening our direct relations with the mills across the country resulting in a significant advantage in terms of pricing and quality”, says Mohit.
Before taking the helm of the family business, Mohit worked with Ericsson and Deloitte Consulting in New York after acquiring his degree in Electronics and Telecom Engineering. He has also worked as a Management Consultant with Deutsche bank and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for six years. After gaining the exposure and experience, he along with his younger brother, Adit Gupta, joined the business set up by their grandfather, Inder Narain and then propelled by their father, Sudhir Kumar, to carry on the legacy.
“My Grandfather was one of the first few visionary men in India who ventured into exports in the 20th century. His farsightedness set him apart from his contemporaries. His dream came with a firm conviction and took him to USSR which at that time was undiscovered territory for many Asians”. says Mohit.
We have stayed committed to our sustainable and ethical fashion practices and always choose carefully when deciding on our production process, the materials we use, our packaging, and printed media. Our long-term mission is to reduce and off-set all our carbon foot prints. To grow and prosper in the competitive landscape of garment manufacturing, Mohit believes it is important to use the latest technologies for their manufacturing units to reduce the dependence on labour.
Into the next century, from generation to generation, we have been passionately working in the handicrafts and garment industry and are very happy to share this passion with our clients
Amtex Industries uses competitive prices, faster deliveries, consistent quality and proficient customer service to retain the competitive advantage over their peers. This is reflective in the passion of the team of committed, skilled and experienced professionals at Amtex. “Into the next century, from generation to generation, we have been passionately working in the handicrafts and garment industry and are very happy to share this passion with our clients”, adds Mohit.
