The five brothers Kamal, Jugal, Manoj, Ram Niwas, and Rajender started AJY group operations in 1986 as a family-run business. Initially centered on the leather industry, the company swiftly pivoted to the burgeoning technical textiles market. Ajy Tech's first coating plant was established in 2013, followed by a weaving plant in 2018, and in 2022, started with the dyeing plant. In recent months, Ajy has added one more coating line, bringing its monthly capacity to two million meters. Presently, the company has branches in all Metropolitan cities: Calcutta, Bombay, Delhi, and Chennai.

The vast array of fabric lines offered includes PU-coated fabric, luggage and backpack fabric, armed forces fabric, specialty custom fabric, recycled yarn fabric, and medical fabric/Breathable PPE. "During the Corona era, we had a segment of PP Fabrics for which our name was recognized in the Times of India for manufacturing high-quality PPE. The majority of our business consists of Shell or outer fabric for Lugguage Bags, Bagpacks, Trolley duffels and lining fabric for Leather, luggauge and other segment of Packtech industry. In addition, we provide tent fabric and garment fabrics for rainwear, rain jackets, windcheaters, and biker jackets", shared Ajay.
Furthermore, Ajy Tech boasts a vertically integrated operational model, housing departments for weaving, dyeing, and coating under one roof. This streamlined approach ensures meticulous quality control at every stage. Each batch is rigorously tested for parameters such as tear strength, tensile strength, and colorfastness in the company's in-house lab, which reflects its dedication to excellence. Ultimately, Ajy Tech comprehends the client's product needs regarding fabric, print, and durability. Customers' two most frequent requests are novel fabric innovations and varied colorways. When it comes to new colors, the company has in-house sampling, dyeing machines, and a spectrophotometer for color matching, and they dye fabric into the required color. And if the client desires a new fabric pattern in terms of jacquards, dobby, oxfords or more, the company suggests various samples based on their weaving structure and if the client approves the patterns, they proceed accordingly.

In the future, the company is looking to establish a unit for the sports garment sector, for which the land area has already been procured, and we look into starting with it in a year or two."
