SJVN Green Energy has signed agreements to pay an estimated Rs 1,950 crore for the provision of 100 MW of wind energy to SECI and 200 MW of solar energy to Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL). According to a BSE filing, the 200 MW ground-mounted solar project in Maharashtra will cost roughly Rs 1,200 crore to complete.
The project was won by SJVN Green, a division of the state-owned SJVN, at a rate of Rs 2.90 per unit after a competitive bidding process in an e-reverse auction run by MSEDCL. The project, which is anticipated to be put into operation in December 2024, would produce 456 MU in the first year and around 10,481 MUs (million units) worth of energy during a 25-year period, according to the statement.
The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) will pay Rs 750 crore for the development of the 100 MW wind farm. Through an online reverse auction, the project was offered at a price of Rs 2.90 per unit on a build-own-and-operate basis.
It is anticipated to be put into operation in March 2025 and produce 289.27 MUs of energy in its first year. Over the course of 25 years, it will produce around 7,231.75 MUs of energy total. 8,67,916 tonne of carbon emissions are anticipated to be reduced after these projects are put into operation.
