Today, PM Modi will dedicate the HAL helicopter facility in Tumakuru to the country and launch "India Energy Week 2023" in Bengaluru. E20 gasoline, a mixture of 20% ethanol and petrol, will be introduced by PM during the start of Energy Week. During the visit, he will also lay the cornerstone for a number of development initiatives.
PM Modi will be making his third trip to the state with upcoming elections in less than a month. PM had previously travelled to Hubballi on January 12 to launch a national youth festival and hold a sizable roadshow. Later on January 19, he travelled to the districts of Yadgiri and Kalaburagi with the intention of gaining support for the ruling BJP ahead of the upcoming April-May assembly elections by demonstrating development and social welfare initiatives.
Speaking of, the India Energy Week (IEW) 2023 in Bengaluru, which runs from February 6–8, aims to highlight India's growing strength as a leader in the energy transformation. An official statement stated that the gathering will bring together leaders from the traditional and non-traditional energy industries, governments, and academics to address the opportunities and difficulties that a responsible energy transition brings.
More than 30 ministries from around the world will attend, according to the press release, which also said that more than 30,000 attendees, 1,000 exhibitors, and 500 speakers will convene to talk about the potential and problems facing India's energy future. Modi will take part in a roundtable
discussion with top oil and gas executives during the programme. He will also start a number of projects related to renewable energy. According to the strategy for ethanol blending, the prime minister will introduce E20 fuel at 84 retail locations run by oil marketing firms in 11 states and union territories. The government intends to reach a total 20% blending of ethanol by 2025, and oil marketing corporations are setting up 2G-3G ethanol plants to support the development, according to the announcement, which defined E20 as a blend of 20% ethanol with gasoline.
Modi will officially start the "Green Mobility Rally," which will feature vehicles powered by renewable energy sources and is intended to raise awareness of green fuels among the general population. The uniforms under Indian Oil's "Unbottled" project will also be introduced by the prime minister. Indian Oil has chosen uniforms for retail customer attendants and LPG delivery employees made from recycled polyester (rPET) and cotton with a mission to phase out single-use plastic. He will also launch the commercial roll-out of Indian Oil's indoor solar cooking system and dedicate its twin-cooktop model.
The Prime Minister will be at Tumakuru at around 3.30 pm to dedicate the HAL helicopter factory to the country. The first helicopters made at the biggest helicopter factory in Asia will be Light Utility Helicopters (LUH). The Prime Minister also placed its cornerstone in 2016. The government was notified on Saturday that the LUH is an indigenously designed and developed 3-ton class, single-engine multifunctional utility helicopter with the special attribute of excellent manoeuvrability.
It is a specialised greenfield helicopter facility that will expand production capabilities and the surrounding environment. Future expansion of the plant will allow it to produce other helicopters, including the Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) and Indian Multirole Helicopter (IMRH), as well as perform repairs and overhauls on the LCH, LUH, Civil ALH, and IMRH.
Future Civil LUH exports from the facility are also a possibility. With the help of this facility, India will be able to manufacture all of the helicopters it needs domestically and will be able to claim independence in the field of helicopter design, development, and manufacturing.
Modi will lay the cornerstone for the Tumakuru Industrial Township. As part of the Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor, which spans 8,484 acres, development of the industrial township in Tumakuru has begun under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme. Two Jal Jeevan Mission projects will have their cornerstones laid by the prime minister at Tumakuru's Tiptur and Chikkanayakanahalli.
