In July, Mehrotra had a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. They talked about the US chip giant's efforts to strengthen semiconductor manufacturing in India.
In June of this year, Micron Technology announced its intention to invest $825 million in a new chip assembly and testing facility in Gujarat. Over the next decade, India aims to emerge as a significant global center for semiconductor manufacturing.
Meanwhile, Goyal, who is on a four-day visit to the US, also held a roundtable discussion with prominent academicians at Stanford University.
