The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has finalized multiple important technology transfer agreements to promote the commercialization of innovations created under the National Mission on Power Electronics Technology (NaMPET).
The declaration was made by MeitY Secretary S. Krishnan at a ceremony conducted at Electronics Niketan in New Delhi, where he highlighted the significance of cultivating domestic technology skills in power electronics.
The event showcased various technologies developed with MeitY's backing via the NaMPET program, all of which have gone through extensive development, deployment, testing, and certification to ready them for commercial use.
These agreements signify substantial advancement in India's power electronics field and showcase effective cooperation among government, research organizations, and industry collaborators. A significant milestone acknowledged at the event was the transfer of indigenous 1.5 kW Wireless Charger technology to Global Business Solution Pvt. Ltd.
This technology, collaboratively created by C-DAC (T) and VNIT Nagpur, functions on a typical 230V, 50Hz AC single-phase input and is capable of charging a 4.8kWh onboard battery pack at 48V with a 30A current in roughly three hours.
The system reaches a peak efficiency of 89.4 percent with coil spacing between 7.5 and 12.5 cm, using Silicon Carbide MOSFETs working at 88kHz, and includes vital safety mechanisms such as short-circuit and open-circuit safeguards.
