Engineering and construction major Larsen & Toubro has emerged as the lowest bidder for an engineering-procurement and construction (EPC)
order from the Nuclear Power Corporation of IndiaLimited (NPCIL) for the Nuclear Island electro-mechanical works of the Gorakhpur Haryana Anu Vidyut Pariyojana 1&2 (GHAVP 1&2), according to sources aware of the development. The contract is worth upto Rs 2500 crore. L&T’s scope of work will include engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of nuclear equipment, valves, nuclear ventilation, plant water package and piping for all the core nuclear systems in Nuclear Island of GHAVP1&2.
The project is scheduled to be completed in 48 months. Last February, the construction arm of L&T bagged a contract worth up to Rs 2,500 crore for building two units of the Kudankulam NPCIL.
