The power transmission and distribution division of Larsen and Toubro (L&T) reported receiving fresh orders from both domestic and international clients. "L&T Construction wins major contracts for its power transmission & distribution business," L&T stated in a statement. Orders valued between Rs 2,500 crore and Rs 5,000 crore
are categorised as large orders by the company. The company has received orders from Saudi Arabia and Malaysia in addition to Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Chhattisgarh in India. It claimed that more orders had been obtained for the ongoing transmission line and substation construction projects in India and the Far East.
Director and senior executive vice president for utilities, T. Madhava Das, said: "With complete electrification, the logical next step is to update our distribution systems with intelligent and smart components. It is also uplifting to promote evacuation and integration of renewable energy across different countries by timely and safe building of large capacity transmission infrastructure to speed up global energy transformation".
Larsen & Toubro is an Indian multinational engaged in EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) projects, hi-tech manufacturing and services. It operates internationally in more than 50 nations. L&T Construction is the construction branch of the corporation.
