JCBL Group announced that its defence division, Airbornics Defence & Space Pvt Ltd (ADSL), will collaborate to develop and produce advanced technologies for light tanks and various combat vehicles through a strategic alliance between India and Slovakia.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was established between India and Slovakia during President Droupadi Murmu's recent trip to the Central European country, JCBL announced in a statement.
Within this collaboration, ADSL will be essential in the local development and production of vital combat systems for light tanks, such as turrets, active protection systems (APS), remote-controlled weapon systems (RCWS), and human-machine interface (HMI) modules, stated JCBL.
The company states that all production will take place in India, bolstering the objectives of the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
The partnership aims to promote technology transfer, operational efficiency, and the joint development of advanced combat systems specifically suited for challenging landscapes and elevated environments, it stated.
The collaboration also creates opportunities for future defense exports by merging Slovakia's technological know-how with India's strong industrial foundation, it stated.
During her trip to Slovakia, President Murmu was joined by an elite business delegation. The partnership is anticipated to enhance India's military strengths while creating new prospects in international defence markets.
