A 45.80 MW wind-solar hybrid captive power plant has been put into operation in the Indian state of Gujarat by First Energy Private Limited (FEPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of energy and environmental solutions provider Thermax Limited. The cutting-edge plant has installed solar and wind power capacities of 21.50 MW and 24.3 MW, respectively.
The plant can cut 1,11,700 tonnes of carbon equivalent annually. "Renewable energy is clearly the way forward, and, within renewables, wind-solar hybrid power offers significant advantages in terms of generation and distribution efficiencies and land utilisation," said Ashish Bhandari, Managing Director and CEO of Thermax Limited.
The plant has 9 wind turbine generator (WTG) units, each of which has a 2.7 MW generation capacity, together with more than 50,000 solar modules. The facility guarantees effective transmission and smooth incorporation of sustainable energy into the electrical system.
Commercial and industrial establishments can benefit from FEPL's expertise in decentralising and decarbonizing energy ecosystems through renewable energy. According to the corporation, FEPL's commitment to creating a decarbonized energy landscape is demonstrated by the wind-solar hybrid captive power plant.
