Pralhad Joshi, Minister of Coal and Parliamentary Affairs, advised coal companies to locate and eliminate production bottlenecks in order to boost dry fuel production even more. He made this
statement while presiding over a meeting to discuss the production of dry fuel from allotted blocks. 54 active coal blocks have generated 92.3 million tonnes of coal so far this fiscal year. Officials from Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) and Coal India Limited (CIL) attended the meeting, which was held at the company's headquarters in Kolkata.
After the meeting, he tweeted further, "Happy to note that CIL has not only accomplished 100% of targeted coal output up to January 2023, but also registered 15.2% growth over last year." 100% of the target was also met in terms of coal offtake by CIL, up 5.5% from the previous year. The minister also tweeted that he had "directed SCCL officials to follow annual targets and encouraged coal businesses to further scale up coal shipments to thermal power facilities."
