Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL) and ACME Group, a diversified green energy company, recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore the potential business opportunities of green hydrogen. The companies will work together to encourage customer adoption and generate demand for green hydrogen in the nation. The companies will also collaborate to investigate the
possibility of establishing hydrogen producing facilities, including installing electrolyzers to mix green hydrogen into IGL's current pipeline networks supplying petrol to homes, businesses and other settings, as well as CNG for automobiles. Manoj K. Upadhyay, founder and chairman of the ACME Group, stated that "both the partners will identify areas/projects for green hydrogen adoption in the country." According to Ashwani Dudeja, President & Director (Green Hydrogen and Ammonia), ACME Group, as a green energy provider to various cities, will bring its knowledge and skills to the cooperation, while IGL has a ready-made network to blend green hydrogen.
Dudeja added, "We will work together on policy issues and aid the business community and the government in establishing an enabling regulatory environment that enables and motivates the customers to give long-term offtake commitments for green hydrogen and green ammonia. According to Sanjay Kumar, managing director of IGL, the creation of green ammonia from green hydrogen has the potential to be another business area for the company.
