India is the world’s second-largest producer of aquaculture, third-largest fish producer, and fourth-largest seafood exporter, with over $7 billion in exports. Frozen shrimp remained India’s most important export commodity in terms of both quantity and value. The primary contributors to the growth of this industry in India are the states of Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, and Odisha. Based in Kolkata, West Bengal NDM Seafood Processors and Exporters is the newest initiative, which has built a cuttingedge marine product processing facility. With the supply of all types of aquaculture vannamei, black tiger, sea caught shrimps, and other sea fishes and freshwater shrimps, and the development of new products, the business has emerged as one of the most significant international processors in terms of seafood commodity.
The firm’s primary products include frozen shrimp and fish. Shrimps and fish are packed and exported in the form of individually frozen and in blocks. The company’s flagship goods include IQF Peeled tail-on & Tail-Off shrimp, IQF Head-On- Shell-On shrimps, Cooked & Blanched shrimps, IQF Tilapia and Silver Pomphret, and IFQ value-added (breaded and battered shrimps), Nobashi, and Tempura.
“These products are different from other products in the market as our business has developed Nobashi (machine stretched) for Japanese, Korean, and USA markets in a wider range. We have started developing a variety of value-added products with different Indian and Thai flavors which suit the global palate. The garlic flavor is quite popular in the international market and our Garlic Butter Frozen Shrimp is quite a unique product”, shares Ronit Guha, Co-founder & CEO, NDM.
"Product quality is an industrial requirement, and NDM guarantees that its products meet the highest quality standards worldwide. The company adheres to the process flow chart approved by the regulatory bodies EIC and MPEDA. The complete process, from raw material receiving to final packaging, is meticulously timed and monitored. Trained teams perform quality checks to guarantee complete hygiene and avoid contamination. NDM’s cold chain unit serves as a USP as it helps retain freshness, color, texture, and good smell while transporting shrimp and fish from the farms to processing plants", shares Oindrila Majumder, Co-founder & Managing Director.
