The veterinary pharmaceutical market in India is growing rapidly with a significant rise in pet ownership, livestock production, and increased awareness about animal health. Although investment in manufacturing facilities is rising, meeting the demand for high-quality veterinary pharmaceuticals remains a challenge as it requires the understanding of different anatomical and physiological characteristics of animals, including variations in gastrointestinal pH and enzymatic activity.
This is where Vesper Group excels by designing pharmaceutical products based on ADME steps of pharmacokinetics while considering individual animal physiological systems and pH variations in the animal digestive system. It enables personalized, effective, and safe treatments through its veterinary pharmaceutical products. Vesper Group team comprises highly experienced veterinarians, microbiologists, and approved chemists who possess more than 30 years of expertise. They play a crucial role in the production of poultry vaccines, livestock injectable products, and the development of new blends of feed additives. Moreover, its extensive distributor network, with 30-35 years of experience, enables it to reach even the most remote areas of the market.
The company’s focus lies not on selling numerous products, but rather on creating a combined premix product that can be provided to farmers in a formulated manner. This approach aims to benefit farmers in terms of both quality and quantity. Ruby Sharma plays a vital role in providing these formulations and offering practical guidance to farmers for better results. Vesper is dedicated to this goal and has developed products for specific diseases such as lumpy disease in cattle and swine fever in swine. It also offers innovative products for the aquaculture industry, specifically designed to enhance the pond ecosystem.
As customers are constantly in search of new products that cater to their latest requirements, Vesper Group consistently stays ahead in meeting these demands. It is dedicated to developing products that address the needs arising from today's ever-changing circumstances. The group possesses an in-house raw material testing laboratory and also utilizes external laboratory facilities. Its trusted raw material suppliers have been with the company for over 20-30 years, ensuring the production of assured and high-quality products. The company conducts thorough testing of each raw material batch prior to product manufacturing, as well as random sample testing of finished products to uphold its stringent quality standards before releasing the product in the market.
“We are proud to be recognized as one of the top 10 veterinary pharmaceutical companies. Our success is attributed to our result-oriented products, which are developed based on molecular weight and extensive knowledge of drug carriers. This uniqueness sets us apart and establishes us as pioneers in several product categories in the market. Our 45 years of experience in product manufacturing speaks volumes about our contribution to the veterinary pharmaceutical industry”, says Ruby Sharma, CEO of Vesper Group, & Proprietor of Vesper Labs.
Established and Operated by Veterinarians
Established and operated by veterinarians, Vesper Group consists of multiple subsidiaries, namely Vesper Labs, Orchid Spa, Herbal Pharma, and Vesper Pharmaceutical. Because of its unique background, the group has a deep understanding of the physiology of different animal species and the pharmacology of drugs. Leveraging this knowledge, it is able to develop new products that can effectively address the complex and overlapping disease-related circumstances faced by animals. This is why its existing products perform exceptionally well in extreme and challenging conditions as they are empowered by the group’s expertise.
Meticulous Approach
After identifying the needs of its customers, Vesper Group’s research team focuses on developing formulations and combinations of blends. They conduct extensive research on factors such as pH levels and suitable carrier or base materials to ensure the targeted system is effectively reached. To create unique products, they incorporate amino-nitrogens that enhance the assimilation and absorption of drugs. Then the extensive distributor network of the company ensures the widespread availability of its products, which then reach the district level through sub-dealers. Consequently, its field team ensures the delivery of products to the end customers.
There are numerous examples of how Vesper Group has helped its customers through its products. One of them is how it addressed the challenges of early chick mortality caused by transport stress, dehydration, and dynamic weather changes. The company developed a product called RC-Ves granules (Revitalizing Chicks from Vesper). RC-Ves granules effectively tackle dehydration during transport and long-distance travel while providing essential nutrients and salt at the earliest stage. This aids in the absorption of yolk and prevents yolk sac infection. The granules are designed with a shape, size, and color that make them easily accessible for the birds to pick. Moreover, the ingredients used in RC-Ves granules ensure easy digestion, absorption, and revitalization of chicks during the critical early stage of life. In addition, RC-Ves granules prove invaluable during hot summers or when the birds experience reduced feed intake due to disease conditions.
A Remarkable Journey of Growth
Ever since the foundation of Vesper Group in 1978, which marked the beginning of a journey that was aligned with the growth and development of the industry, the company has been continuously expanding through its focus on creating result-oriented products with a strong emphasis on molecular weight. Its unique products were tailored to the needs of farmers, and their effectiveness yielded remarkable results. Some of these products have been in the market for 44 years and continue to thrive. “Reflecting on the journey from 1978 to 2023, we are grateful to the individual farmers, stakeholders, and distributors who played a pivotal role in our success. Looking ahead, we anticipate celebrating our Golden Jubilee in another four years, marking a significant milestone in our remarkable and prosperous journey”, shares Ruby Sharma.
In the fiscal year 2023-24, Vesper Group has ambitious plans to expand its livestock products business throughout India. It also aims to tap into previously untapped markets for its Aqua products. This year, the company has announced the launch of its pet products under the brand name Ves- Pets, catering to the needs of pet owners. Going forward, the company has strategic plans to introduce its poultry feed in select states, thus further diversifying its product offerings and expanding its presence in the market.
“The future of the poultry industry holds immense potential, with expectations of substantial growth and advancements over the next decade. This anticipated growth will undoubtedly require stakeholders across the industry to be well-prepared and adaptable. Farmers can look forward to increased opportunities as consumption rates continue to rise. As a result, the demand for finished poultry products will persist, ensuring a promising market for the industry. Overall, the poultry industry stands poised for a bright and prosperous future”, signs off Ruby Sharma.
