Aluminium closures are the preferred medium for packaging of global brands with various advantages like the premium look, shelf-life, retention of taste, flavour & texture of the packaged end-line prWoducts. Also, aluminium closures play a vital role in driving visual appeal, brand differentiation, and convenience for consumers besides offering leak-proof and contamination-resistant advantages. As a result, aluminium closures have become imperative for the packaging industry today. This is further propelled by the rising concerns for product safety that is coupled with convenient packaging solutions and an enhanced brand image.
Among others, the alcobev industry is one of the major users of aluminium closures. Various types of aluminium closures are being used in beverage packaging from aluminium ROPP caps, ring-pull crowns, caps for CSD beverages to name a few. Furthermore, the insulating properties of aluminium have aided players, across industrial segments to be in sync with safety and security measures. This is, however, dependant on the competency of the closure manufacturers to help businesses change as per the market dynamics.
Leveraging decades of experience in metal packaging, Nipra Group was established in 1982 by Mr. Prakash Jain. The Company has been at the forefront in bringing the needed innovation in the field of aluminium closures and the metal printing business. Niprahas been staying abreast of the technological advancements to remain relevant amidst the ever-changing market dynamics. This has given the Company an edge over competitors in catering to the diverse demands of its niche clients over the years. Nipra is one of the largest producers of aluminium closures in the Indian subcontinent with an estimated 15 percent market share. Nipra also has the largest f leet of metal printing & coating lines and ROPP cap manufacturing lines in India.
The Company has been hand-holding its clients to develop solutions for enhancing their brand’s image, and also offers customized products that meet every unique market demand. “With the long-standing relations, we have strong support from our suppliers i.e., aluminium as well as ink & coatings suppliers. With this, we are able to offer faster deliveries and world-class products. We have more than 25 unique closure sizes that we can offer. We also have the ability to develop custom size closures. For instance, if a customer has developed a new kind of bottle which is non-standard, we have the expertise and ability to develop and meet the unique requirement,” says Nikhil Jain, Director at Nipra.

To cater to the ever-changing packaging needs of producers of alcobev spirits, wine, pharmaceuticals, and olive oil, Nipra’s products are backed by skilled professionals and robust machines that ensure high-speed, quality-driven, and consistent production. Nipra also offers closures with non-refillable valves which provide enhanced security for its client’s products. Some of the high in-demand products are 22/15mm for
pharmaceutical packaging, 25/17 mm, 28/18 mm & 30/35 mm closures for spirits packaging, and 30/60 mm closures for wine packaging.
Furthermore, Nipra’s printed metal sheets are used by producers of aluminium ROPP closures, 3-piece cans for food and paints, aluminium cans for cosmetic packaging, metal battery jackets, crown caps, and twist-off closures. The aluminium and tinplate sheets are procured from some of the most reputed producers across the globe. The ink & coating suppliers are global leaders, thus enabling Nipra to develop tailor-made solutions for every client’s diverse requirement. As A Producer Of Aluminium Closures And Metal Printing, Nipra Has Been Investing In New Technologies And Innovative Manufacturing Processes
Furthermore, competency in the field also makes Nipra the most trusted entity when it comes to offering aesthetic enhancements in aluminium closures such as sidewall dry-offset printing, silk screen printing, tampo printing, hot-foil stamping, and also side/top embossing & chamfering. “We have the advantage of scaling and extending our reach across various geographical locations with manufacturing plants across West, North, and South India. This gives us a perfect position to successfully cater to the different plants of each customer seamlessly. This also ensures faster deliveries and service to our valuable clients.” states Nikhil.
Sustainable Manufacturing
In today’s times, sustainable manufacturing is the responsibility of every enterprise. Nipra has been taking various steps to reduce the carbon footprint on the environment and be a sustainable enterprise. For instance, in the manufacturing of aluminium
ROPP closures, there is scrap that is generated at different stages of operation. Such scrap is recycled with the aluminium supplier. This ensures there is no metal scrap going to landfills and creates a sustainable approach in producing closures in the most environmentally friendly way. In addition, Nipra has also invested in solar power generation at its plants and has adopted green building solutions to reduce the need for cooling systems. Moreover, Nipra has invested in rainwater harvesting to reuse natural resources and deployed energy-efficient lighting solutions in an effort to remain sustainable in today’s times.
Revolutionary Approach
As a producer of aluminium closures and metal printing, Nipra has been investing in new technologies and innovative manufacturing processes. To share one such example, in 2002, the Company launched a multi-stage operation line, which they call a “tandem line” to carry on the 4 operations across different coating processes with a very high level of efficiency compared to a standalone line. This line when installed was a much-needed innovation for the Company. This line led to high-speed output and more than 95% efficiency in pre-printing operation and led to the Company being able to meet the growing customer demand.
Many such innovations at Nipra have backed the pride of hosting young and technically adept teams who are future-ready when it comes to integrating the latest technologies to create innovation in the industry. Their combined experience has been significant in boosting the Company’s growth.
“We have already started expansion at our South Gujarat plant to be ready for future demand. We are erecting a brand-new building and integrating the latest technologies & high-end machines. We will be creating an additional 25% capacity in the new expansion. We are confident and remain bullish about India’s economic growth,” concludes Nikhil.
Moving ahead, Nipra is also looking to expand its footprint internationally. Currently, Nipra is already amongst the leading exporters of aluminium closures from India. Due to the quality deliver ability, Nipra has harnessed opportunities to grow and sustain its business in India and abroad.
