Prasad – a mechanical engineer with a master’s from IIT-Madras, returned to India in 2006 after working abroad as a software engineer. “During those days, tobacco industry was moving from manual packing to mechanized packing, for which corrugated boxes were in high demand. As my in-laws were into tobacco exports, they understood the drastic shift in packing needs and its importance in tobacco industry. Therefore, my father-in-law and co-brother guided and supported me in establishing the corrugated box business”, explains Prasad.
Being familiar with exports and imports for over five decades, they not only helped the company to navigate through Exim procedures, but also provided right advice to Prasad on how to cater the changing needs and demands of customer industries. “My wife’s support needs a special mention here, as she patiently endured with me all along this journey. She plays a very constructive role in our strategic decisions and handles the company’s finances. Though, being a majority shareholder, she allowed me to risk, experiment and stood by me in all the outcomes”, affirms Prasad.
