Owing to the growing use of plastic products instead of metals due to its lower cost and better performance, today, India’s plastic industry is one of the fastest growing industries in the country. This growth of plastic industry in the Indian market is primarily driven by the various developmental projects undertaken by the government. The current plastic market offers lots of opportunities with its applications in a wide range of industry segments including packaging, Automotive, Constructions, Healthcare and more.
The coming years are expected to witness a surge in demands of plastic products across Potable water supply, wastewater treatment, agriculture and chemical sectors, thus offering new opportunities for manufacturers. The major growth drivers for this market are the growth of government infrastructural spending, increasing residential and commercial construction, industrial production, irrigation sector, and replacement of aging pipelines under government schemes such as ‘Housing for All,’ Jal Jeevan Mission’ and ‘Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana’ (Prime Minister’s Agriculture Irrigation Scheme).
Currently, in most of the industries utilizing plastic products, the demand exceeds the supply in the current scenario, also, there is lack of timely availability of raw material and supply chain optimization.
