During the Monsoon of 2019, Northern region of Karnataka experienced heavy rainfall and floods. . The Power utilities Like Powergrid, KPTCL and DISCOM’s had faced critical forced blackouts at some major industrial and rural feeders. Since Powergrid was using Taurus’ offline method, they were able to identify the severe faults on overhead powerlines of 400kV level, thereby immediately organising ERS at those locations. DISCOM too deployed Taurus’ offline Test tool from KPTCL for identifying the multiple Faults on 33kV lines, which in turn helped finding fault points within 15 minutes by using advanced signature analysis tool.
