Textile mills play a vital role in the industrial revolution, catering to the demand for fabrics used in clothing and household items. In recent years, the textile industry in India has witnessed significant growth, thanks to the support provided by the Central and State Governments. This support has given existing and new entrepreneurs in the industry the impetus to achieve their desired revenues and profit margins, with policies such as the PLI scheme being particularly helpful.
Furthermore, the post-covid boom in the industry has resulted in a shift in the preferences of customers from China to other countries such as India as a supplier, leading to an increase in exports and consequently a higher demand for exports as well. Swaraj Suiting is a textile manufacturer that produces finished denim and cotton fabrics used in shirting and bottom wear. The company was incorporated in 2003 with a focus on manufacturing, trading, and dealing in textiles.
Currently, Swaraj Suiting operates two weaving units in Bhilwara, Rajasthan that specializes in the production of Denim, Cotton, and Synthetic fabrics, and One unit in Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh comprising Backward and Forward Integration of Weaving i.e. Yarn Dying and Fabric Processing. “Swaraj Suiting is a well-established player in the textile industry, with 25 years of experience. Over the years, we have collaborated with several recognized brands in the country such as Mufti and Reliance Trends.
In the current financial year, we have launched two new brands - Swaraj Denim and Blue Cloud - which have received a positive response from both domestic and international markets”, speaks Sabir Khan, Chairman & Managing Director, Swaraj Suiting. The company's order book currently stands at around 100 Crores, with a lead time of two to three months. The textile industry faces significant challenges when it comes to meeting customer needs. Two key pain points in this segment are quality and on-time delivery.
Given the fast-paced nature of the industry and the trend toward fast fashion, it is crucial for suppliers like Swaraj Suiting to ensure the timely delivery of orders. “We address these issues by providing customers with day-to-day updates on production flow, delivery flow, and estimated completion dates after they place their orders, ensuring a smooth transaction for both parties”, shares Sabir. Quality is also a top priority for the firm, which has developed an in-house Research and Development Lab, along with a Quality Assurance Lab. These labs are equipped with various machines for testing different parameters of the fabric ordered by customers.

Swaraj Suiting specializes in providing finished Denim and Cotton fabrics to customers for garment processing and has created over 800- 900 unique products for its new brands, Swaraj Denim and Blue Cloud, using different yarns, dyes, and weaving patterns. The firm’s client engagement process begins with the appointment of agents in different zones across the country, including major markets like Delhi, Ulhasnagar, Mumbai, and Kolkata. Samples of the company's products, developed by its in-house marketing team, are then sent to the agents. The agents showcase these products to potential customers and finalize orders. Once an order is placed, it is transferred to Swaraj Suiting’s in-house production and planning team, which provides the customer with the delivery flow of their order.
The firm is currently planning a second expansion project in Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh after successfully completing and commencing the Yarn Dying and Fabric finishing plant. The company’s future plan is to purchase equipment for Cotton Yarn spinning, Weaving looms, and addition in denim and cotton fabric dyeing and finishing capacity, which will enable it to process approximately additional 20 million meters of denim and cotton fabric per annum and produce approximately 5600 Tons of Cotton yarn per annum. The proposed project will be located at Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh.
