The rice milling market in India is expected to be valued at $392.6 million by 2022 and to expand at a CAGR of 3.51 percent from 2022 to 2030. India is the world's second-largest rice producer and the world's largest rice exporter. And, it's no surprise that rice milling is one of India's oldest and largest agricultural processing industries. Increased investment in the technological modernization and upgradation of India's rice mills, as well as government supported policies and programs, are credited with giving the market greater momentum and improving rice production and productivity in the country.
Sri Balaji Rice Mill was founded in 1980 by the Late Jugal Kishore Sarda, who is considered the pioneer of rice mills in all of Bellary's neighbouring regions. The founder was one of the most experienced and dynamic industrialists of that time, and established the mill to provide customers with the best rice possible in terms of cooking, flavor, and cleanliness. J.K. Govindnarayan Sarda, son of Late Jugal Kishore Sarda and the firm's Managing Partner, has been overseeing SBRM since 1984 with the same vision as the firm's founder, and his sons G Prashanth Kumar Sarda and G Sagar Sarda have also joined him in this quest. SBRM strives to manufacture
quality products while ensuring that no harm comes to the environment or the health of its employees and hence has taken necessary precautions for the safety of the workforce and workplace health. “Hygiene is of utmost importance to us. All the bins are coated with Food Graded paints to ensure healthy consumable grains and we have even incorporated automatic packing to ensure that the grains remain untouched by human hands even when they are packed", speaks J. K. Govindnarayan Sarda.
We seek to meet the needs of all clients by delivering varieties of rice at various price ranges, without compromising on the quality
SBRM only purchases the highest quality paddy straight from farmers' paddy fields each bag of Paddy is inspected at the time of loading, and any bags of poor quality are rejected onsite. The firm examines the moisture, broken, faulty grain percentage, paddy density, and so on for each batch of purchased paddy, and even if the seller offers a lower price for the poor quality paddy, the entire lot is rejected if the quality does not meet the standard requirements, as quality is the USP of SBRM's business. “Our entire milling process runs on Buhler Machinery, the pioneers in the field of rice processing, and Buhler Sortex S6, which helps us to provide the best quality rice to customers", speaks J. K. Govindnarayan Sarda.
SBRM produces highquality Sortexed Sona Masoori, Jeera Sona (RNR), Silky Steam Rice, and Raw Rice, which are sold under their own brands namely Kitchen King, SBRM's K King and SBRM's K2K. “We are supplying our rice to wholesale dealers through our agents and have Exclusive Rice Retail Outlets in Ballari and Bengaluru city which cater to the needs of our consumers directly. Through these consumers, we will be able to know their tastes, likes and dislikes, and preferences. Continually improving our products, and systems and always being environmentally friendly is the SBRM Way", speaks Govindnarayan. The firm's renowned consumers are widespread throughout south India, and this is due to the firm's high standards for both the management of the organization's multiple activities and the quality of the products they create.
Non-basmati rice demand has expanded dramatically in the previous fiveyears, and SBRM is attempting to capitalize on this by producing various varieties of rice to fulfill customer demand to lead the market in the coming years.
