Rice mills in India play a crucial role in the country's agricultural economy. They process rice into the staple food that feeds millions of people. As one of the world's leading rice producers, the Indian rice milling industry is large and diverse, ranging from small, traditional mills to large, modern facilities.
In recent years, there have been significant advances and trends in the sector that are transforming operations. These include the introduction of automation and digital technologies, increased focus on energy efficiency and sustainability, and the introduction of advanced quality control systems. Established in 2017, Kuber Agro Industries is a pioneer of the finest agricultural crafts and practices in the production of highquality basmati rice. The company has a heritage of its own and has been involved in the bountiful production of food grains for four generations.
Sustainable Rice Milling Practices
Modern rice mills in India set high standards in quality assurance and sustainability and play a crucial role in the country's agricultural economy.Kuber Agro Industries undergoes stringent quality checks every four hours before packaging and meets the requirements of the US FDA, BRC and various European standards to ensure that its products meet international benchmarks.
The company’s strategic location close to agricultural fields allows it to source raw materials at low cost, giving it a competitive advantage in pricing. By reducing procurement and production costs, the company offers competitive prices without compromising on quality. In addition, the company has installed a one-megawatt solar power plant, which has been in operation for three years and covers 50 percent of its energy needs.
"In addition, my plant operates with a minimum of liquid discharge. Whatever we discharge goes through a series of iterations and is reused in agriculture. We are very serious about addressing the problem of pollution and the environment. We are continually improving, reducing our carbon footprint every second”, shares Arpit Saraf.
With its commitment to quality, sustain ability, & global expansion, Kuber Agro Industries is not just setting standards but nourishing communities worldwide
Kuber Agro Industries' procurement process is very hands-on and direct, the firm buys rice directly from farmers at the ground level, across different mandis in various cities and states. After purchasing, the rice undergoes quality control where the company segregates and differentiates between all the qualities and varieties. The product is then transported to the manufacturing unit where it is stored under optimal conditions. The company ages the rice for a minimum of eight to fifteen months to enhance its quality.
Once aged, the rice goes through a meticulous process starting with steaming, washing, and drying to achieve a uniform moisture level. The firm’s milling process involves removing the husk and bran layers, cleaning the rice, and using optical sorting to eliminate discolored grains. Post this, the rice is grated, separating broken grains from whole ones and ready to use.
Charting a Global Course
The firm's plan is anchored in a steadfast commitment to its vision: delivering superior-quality rice at competitive prices, without diverting attention to other ventures. With a current presence in 31 countries, Kuber Agro Industries aims to significantly broaden its global footprint, envisioning operations in over 100 countries within the next three years. Alongside this expansion, the firm is diligently nurturing local domestic brands, attracting a growing customer base every day. This concerted effort reflects their aspiration to not only penetrate but also thrive in diverse markets worldwide, ensuring their products are accessible to consumers across the globe.
