The pace of industrialisation, urbanisation and commercialisation has increased the Indian power consumption over the past decade. Government initiatives like power for all and plans to reach 175GW capacity by the end of 2022 has given a boost to power and distribution transformers market. It is projected to grow at a CAGR of close to 7 percent till 2026. The transformer market in India encourages participation from OEMs and third-party suppliers; however it is a challenge for them to deliver quality products and customised solutions mainly due to their incompetent process designs and lack of exposure in resolving key consumer issues.
The potential rise in power requirements and subsequently the need of new generation and performance driven transformers makes enterprises like Danish indispensable contributor in leading India on global power map. Danish has more than three decades of presence in the power industry with over 60 per cent of its total sales being achieved from the Indian market. Dinesh Talwar, the CMD of Danish says, “We have an in-house design team fully capable of designing efficient & robust transformers as per customer specifications. Our Testing lab is NABL
accredited. Danish transformers are known for delivering excellent performance for years.”
Meeting Consumer Expectations
Dinesh continues, “Our customers also expect new technology and new products. Price of Copper, which is a major component in Transformers, is rising day by day. So, there is an evident shift towards Aluminium transformers or Amorphous core Transformers, which we have started manufacturing. Our clients also want Energy Efficient Transformers which save electricity. Since long we have been manufacturing Energy Efficient, Star rated products. We try to embrace new technology and manufacture customized products.”
Danish has prioritised on providing the best-in-class and innovative products to its customers. Its long standing client relationships are built on trust and being able to deliver beyond consumer expectations at every opportunity. ISO certifications, BIS and NABL accreditations and being recipient of Star Export House Award are certain results of the stringent Quality Management norms that are working principle at Danish.
Diverse Range of Offerings
Danish always provides designs with standard credentials proven with an array of solutions. The Dry Type of transformer manufactured by Danish is renowned for its resistance to temperature fluctuations and higher flexibility in installation period due to its compact design. The Distribution Transformers offered by Danish cover the standard range of international and domestic requirements.
Dinesh adds, “The Inverter Duty Transformers which are primarily used in Solar and Wind applications have 3/4/5/7 windings, these Transformers are Type Tested to withstand dynamic & thermal effects resulting of a secondary Short Circuit as per IS:2026 / IEC 60076 from International Recognized Laboratories.” Danish currently possesses a manufacturing capacity of 3000MVA and delivers utmost care in workmanship and selection of quality raw material for a durable and maintenance free life. The products offered are approved from National and Global Testing labs like KEMA, CPRI and ERDA.
Future Roadmap
Customer-centric services, Customisation of innovative product line and building consumer trust by every step of a deliverable has been at the core of Danish’s journey. Dinesh concludes, “Presently we are manufacturing up to 33 kV transformers we intend to take it to 132 kV in about ten to twelve months. The annual rolling capacity we are looking at is 5000 MVA. Beside this, we are also working on market penetration and trying to enter new markets.”
