SJVN Green Energy, a state-owned subsidiary of SJVN Ltd, won a 200 MW wind power project worth Rs 1,400 crore in a tariff-based competitive bidding process run by Solar Energy Corporation of India. According to a BSE filing, SJVN Green Energy would create this wind power facility anywhere in India under an EPC (engineering procurement construction) contract.
It stated that the estimated cost of building or developing this project is Rs. 1,400 crore. SJVN Green Energy, a fully owned subsidiary of SJVN Ltd, took part in the tariff-based competitive bidding process for Solar Energy Corporation of India's (SECI) Phase-XIV selection of wind power developers for the establishment of 1,200 MW ISTS (inter-state transmission system) connected wind power projects in India.
Through an e-RA (reverse auction) held on June 12, 2023, SJVN Green Energy won the full quoted capacity of a 200 MW wind power project at the price of Rs 3.24/Unit on a build own and operate (BOO) basis. After the SECI issues the LOI (letter of intent), the Power Sell Agreement (PSA) will be signed.
The project is anticipated to produce 578.16 MUs (million units) annually, with a total 25-year energy production of roughly 14,454 MUs. According to the RFS (request for solution), the project will be commissioned 24 months after the PSA is signed. This project's completion is anticipated to result in a reduction of 7,08,246 tonnes of carbon emissions, helping the government achieve its goal of lowering emissions overall.
