Essar group intends to build at least 200 liquefied natural gas (LNG) fueling stations to cater to the nation's minor gas consumers. Essar also intends to produce green ammonia in India with the intention of exporting it to the UK for use in its
refinery. The company has started decarbonization initiatives at its refinery with the goal of serving additional clients looking for green fuels. The distribution network of LNG refuelling facilities is designed to support the development of an ecosystem for LNG-powered vehicles. A number of state-run businesses are considering building LNG refuelling stations, but the recent year's extraordinary volatility in LNG prices has thwarted their plans.
The business will consider securing long-term gas supplies if the distribution network and local demand for LNG in transportation are in place, according to Ruia, Director of Essar Capital. The LNG network of Essar will concentrate on markets outside of large cities. An LNG-powered vehicle can travel 1400 km on a full tank because to the energy density of the fuel, he claimed.
