LG Electronics is strategically tapping into India's burgeoning business-to-business (B2B) educational technology market by supplying digital boards, aligning with the country's expanding digital education infrastructure under the Digital India Policy initiated in 2015. According to market researcher Omdia, the supply of digital boards in India has been growing at an annual average rate of 80% over the past five years.
LG has been actively contributing to this growth by supplying approximately 10,000 LG CreateBoard digital boards to around 2,900 public high schools in Odisha over the past three years. Pramath Nath Dey, a principal of a public high school in Odisha, praised the digital boards for enhancing students' learning efficiency and facilitating high-level classes with diverse digital content.
The LG CreateBoard features an easy-to-use interface that allows seamless switching between different modes, such as board and video, and offers various educational templates like diagrams and charts. It supports up to 40 multi-touch points on its large touchscreen and enables file sharing to any device connected to the LG CreateBoard Share app, thereby improving efficiency and communication between teachers and students.
LG Electronics, in its 27th year in India, has established a comprehensive local business structure encompassing sales, production, and R&D. To further penetrate the Indian B2B market, LG has been showcasing its digital boards' uses and benefits by directly engaging with customers across major regions.
The educational technology market in India is poised for significant growth, projected to expand from $2.8 billion in 2020 to $10.4 billion by 2025, according to Statista. Jeon Hong-ju, managing director of LG Electronics India, emphasized the company's commitment to capturing this rapidly growing market with LG's specialized education solutions.
