Infrastructure development is currently happening all over India, with both central and state governments coming out with various exciting projects. These projects are necessary and inevitable for a fast-developing nation like India in the form of good road networks, railway connectivity, bridges, more than 50 airports, sea ports, dams, power plants, and many more. The rapid growth in infrastructure as well as the government’s push to make India a global manufacturing hub under its ‘Make-in-India’ initiative has boosted the Construction machinery sector in the country. Even the global construction machinery market has started to realize the trouble to deal with Europe and China during pandemic as well as war and looking for trustworthy alternatives, India turned out to be the best possible option and front runner in this global scenario.
Started in 2019 by a group of technocrats, Armix Construction Machinery is a Bengaluru-based leading construction machinery manufacturing firm that specializes in the manufacturing of latest technologies and high-quality machines for the Indian construction and concrete industry. Driven by innovation as passion and technology, the firm has a no-compromise policy when it comes to product quality and offers high-quality machines & technologies at affordable costs. Manoj Pillai, Managing Director of Armix Construction Machinery, has worked with some of the leading players in the industry from Germany, Britain, Italy, America, and other European countries. His extensive experience spanning more than 25 years in more than 30 countries has helped him to learn from the best in the industry globally. Since the inception of Armix, Manoj has always prioritized quality and technology to become the leader in this industry.
Offering a Wide Range of Affordable High-quality Machines
Coming to the product portfolio, Armix is focused mainly on seven segments of construction machinery, which are batching & mixing plants, paver brick & block machines, hydraulic wet presses, hermetic tile presses, and lightweight autoclaved aerated concrete as well as precast solutions. The latest in this list is self loading mobile trucks which launched in last Excon trade show in 2022. The advanced planetary mixers of Armix are aptly designed to be used successfully in multiple activities, one after another. According to Manoj, “Various factors, such as the control in mixing cycle by rotation of arms, placement of stars, cement feeding, and dispatch door positions are extremely important for a successful mixer design. While some products need high moisture levels, others require a semi-dry level that will affect the liners and probes. Our planetary mixers are designed in such a way to address all these points and also have reversible side liners that help extend the overall product lifetime”.
The Vibro Press Machines developed by Armix are mainly designed for semi-dry concrete products and applications. The compaction and vibration in the tool helps to achieve various strengths and the advantage is useful for low density and higher density with minimum cement content. Advanced colormix options and value addition features are incorporated to compete with global players. On the other hand, the Hydraulic Wet Press Machines are designed with high pressing force along with dewatering to achieve higher density and strength in a limited cycle time.
This machine variety is mostly useful for roadside kerb stones, flag tiles, slabs, dish channels, rollovers, wheel stoppers, and so on. The Hermetic Tile Press Machines are used for pressing the combination of wet and semi-dry concrete in a manner to attain strength and are useful for forming tiles and pavers with different textures and finishes.
Coming to Precast solutions, these are customized solutions designed and manufactured with the help of molds and other machinery types for bigger elements, such as extruders for hollow core and panel production. The wet press and hermetic machines offered by Armix are also available with the base variant as well as the completely automated high-end options. Armix is also offering Paver & Block Machines with various models, such as BM 3, BM 4, BM 6, BM 9, BM 12, BM 15, and BM 18. These models are based on the number of standard blocks per pressing/ cycle and could produce blocks, pavers, bricks, kerbs, and flag tiles.
Depending on the customer’s land availability, funding, and market requirement, multiple layout options are available and customize accordingly. These machines can be started with minimum automation, and handling, as well as the high-end option with limited employees. Armix self-loading mobile truck mixers are the best and customer friendly in terms of quality and durability of the machine as well as homogenous of the concrete is considered. Easier in operations, transportation and features like spider movements made this as the best choice in the market in short term after the introduction.
Maximum Focus on Quality & Innovation
What makes Armix stand out from the rest of its peers in the market is the superior product quality and innovation. The paver block machines and autoclaved aerated plants developed in association with the firms from Germany, and the wet press machines are from the United Kingdom. Even the firm’s planetary mixers and hermetic tile presses evolved in Italy. “Innovation is our Passion & Quality is our Mission, we have mentioned it in our catalog. We never consider or try to compete with any player from India or China, which is normal in domestic industry. The slogan has been clear, we want to be the leader and compete only with the best”, explains Manoj.
Driven by innovation & technology, Armix has a no-compromise policy when it comes to product quality & offers high-quality machines & technologies at affordable costs
Accomplishments & Future Roadmap
Before starting Armix, Manoj already had extensive experience in the construction machinery sector working and associate with various reputed organizations, such as Hess, Zenith, Finlay, Poyatos, Forest Press, Rotho, Eco Filter, and Kraft across the world. While India was then doing well in the IT and service sector, there wasn’t much happening in the construction machinery sector with Chinese players majorly leading the market. It was his dream to bring world-class technology to India. The firm was established during the pandemic and started addressing the situation and supporting the industry that has suffered a lot without service support from low-cost players.
While the pandemic was a serious blow to the industry, Armix was well aware of the upcoming market and decided to focus on design and development instead of downsizing. The major challenge was to convince a more price-sensitive market like India to make a breakthrough. However, the sheer hard work of the Armix team started to give results even in the middle of the pandemic and managed to bring multiple projects to India. The firm also successfully supplied the heaviest product manufacturing in Qatar before FIFA and was appreciated by the authorities to achieve quality as committed.
The British suppliers who were supposed to take care of the project show their helpless as they were not confident to attain the cycle time and quality standards as prescribed by the local authority. This was a major breakthrough for Armix as the team was confident enough in such scenarios and it helped the firm become a known player in the industry in the gulf region. Currently, the firm is working on almost a dozen projects in different parts of the globe and is almost busy even for the next year with enough projects in hand.
Coming to future roadmaps, Armix wants to become one of the three global leaders in the construction machinery industry short term. As part of its long-term goal, the firm wants to become the number one firm in the industry. While various factors, such as climate differences, raw material variation, and mix designs are considered while designing machinery equipment for different regions across the globe, Armix has come up with a well-suited solution for the international markets. The firm will be focusing on fine-tuning it further before implementation.
The firm is also planning to implement various advanced technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence and electrification, and is also planning to design more volume-friendly and mobile solutions soon. Armix facility is the world class in terms of infrastructure and tooling is considered with the most experienced and efficient team ensures the success of each project.
