A Noteworthy Journey
Tukaram had a humble beginning as a Mechanical Engineering student in 2008, when he began his career as a trainee at a small design shop. He joined Kalmar India after gathering three years of experience in the design and development of automobile components, where he worked in Pune before being relocated to Bengaluru as an Assistant Manager. HMT Machine Tools, which was working on a project for the IGCAR at the time, recognized his ability when he was working for Kalmar India. He was given the opportunity to design and build the tool, where he returned to Pune and completed the project, which exceeded the client’s expectations. This is when he decided to start Sajome Engineering Solution to pursue his entrepreneurial dreams. Sajome Engineering Solution gradually gained traction in terms of clients and projects due to the quality of their work.
Currently, the company is growing at a rate of 300 percent year on year and has expanded into the export market. Sajome Engineering Solution is an ISO 9001-2015 TUV-Nord Dakks accredited firm that provides a complete solution right from designing, producing, prototyping, and developing, to supplying aluminum casting. Die, Casting Dies, GDC & HPDC Casting, Casting Machining, and Casting Machining Fixtures are some of the products that the company designs and manufactures. Today, Sajome Engineering Solution serves clients in a variety of industries, including Automobile, Defence, Energy, EV, Oil & Gas, and PDC. “Being from a traditional rural family, there will always be a struggle.
However, I never let that come in my way. I believe, education is part of a bigger picture, where your real-time experience and hard work bears fruit at the end”, highlights Tukaram Melage-Patil, MD & CEO at Sajome Engineering Solution. “During my college time, I was deeply inspired by Laxmi Mittal who serves as chairman of $80 billion (revenue) Arcelor Mittal, the world's largest steel and mining company by output today. Seeing him, I always used to aspire to become like him. As I was an avid book reader, I was also greatly inspired by a book named ‘Jeet Apki’ by Shiv Khera & He shri chi Eccha by Thanedar (First Marathi MP in the USA). Understanding their work and imparting in my daily operations and relaying the same across my team has helped the company to reach where it is today”, he adds.

Sajome Engineering Solution is India's first small-scale company to develop alloy wheels. All other producers are large corporations since alloy wheels require large investments, technologies, and skilled development teams. Furthermore, the company is the first indigenous company to manufacture steering axle parts for off-road vehicles. The company's accomplishment was made possible due to Tukaram's experience at Kalmar India, where he worked in the R&D department for seven years. These parts were formerly imported from Belgium and Italy. Today, Sajome Engineering Solution is a trusted partner for Idex India, wherein, it has successfully developed 7-8 critical components parts that are required to carry out their operations. Furthermore, Sajome Engineering Solution is also the first company to develop Scrap Cutting Blade. This was previously being imported from China.
Going forward, Sajome Engineering Solution wishes to be a 500 crore business in the next 10 years. It has also established a sister company which has been registered as Sajome Industries India. Further, the company is also looking for tie-ups for which it is already in talks with the partners. Giving a piece of advice Tukaram concludes, “Every individual must understand that success doesn’t come easy. It is the shared mindset that is governed by passion and hard work that leads to success.
