The Journey
Being a customer-centric solution provider, Sonir found the seed of Jeevan Chemicals in innovation and technology to offer products that add value to the customer’s operatives. Innovation has always been a crucial driving force for him to craft unique business solutions and drive sustainable growth. With three manufacturing units in Sarigam and one in Dahej along with a strong R&D centre in place, Sonir set up Jeevan’s robust infrastructure that is poised to manufacture a diversified range of specialty chemicals including surfactants for agro chemicals, formulations and additives for personal care, pharmaceuticals and specialty chemicals for flavours and fragrances.
Over the last two decades Sonir has explored the industry to its heart and came up with an organised facility for environmentally safe specialty chemicals. He started his professional journey back in 1995 with ICI India. His academic career revolved round pursuing BSc at UDCT followed by an MBA in marketing management at Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies.
After working at ICI for eight long years, Sonir started Jeevan Chemicals with his wife Ashita Sonir Shah in 2005 with the production of surfactants for crop protection formulation and then gradually expanded to a wide range of products.
Jeevan has a strong consumer base across the country and also Japan, South Korea, China, Vietnam and North America. Being a first generation entrepreneur, Sonir set out with Jeevan Chemicals with a humble beginning and later achieved recognitions from various prestigious national and international forums. Export Excellence Award 2019 from Pesticides Manufacturers & Formulators Association of India and recognition from Dun & Bradstreet was two among the many accolades that Jeevan has been honoured with.
When asked about the strategy Sonir follows to keep up with current market trends, he adds, “I follow a data driven approach, analytical in nature. I stride to make informed decisions adapting into the emerging business needs. In addition, technology plays one of the most important parts for me to understand, develop, and even formulate any new process, product or system. Innovation is a core and foundational purpose of Jeevan Chemicals. So, it is constantly around us to stay ahead of the competition, to understand the market and to keep coming up with new products and services that meet the needs of today's customers. “We stay focused on our goals as a business without losing sight of what we are trying to achieve, and ensure that our strategies are aligned with our objectives”.

Growth Story
Academically, the milestones include being a BSc final year topper in Jain College and topper in 1st year BSc Tech UDCT. Then successfully completed Marketing Management from one of the most prestigious colleges of India viz. Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies. One of the milestones during the early years of his professional journey was getting selected in an MNC viz. ICI India Limited in 1995. With a successful stint of 8 long years with them, the next milestone was being a First-generation Entrepreneur in the Year 2005.

Jeevan Chemicals Pvt Ltd was founded with his wife as partner who also came on-board as First-generation Entrepreneur.In 2013, the company became a US $ 1 million company and that was a major milestone. From geographical point of view, we began from Gujarat, grew across geographies crossing oceans exporting globally to majorly all continents, is yet another milestone.
During this journey his company earned many accolades, rewards and were recognised by most coveted & acclaimed bodies in the Chemical Industry and every award & every honour was a milestone for him. Today the company is more than US $ 1 billion with Zero-debt sustaining the livelihood of 200 families and this in his eyes is one of the biggest & one of the greatest milestones. Besides these, he is extremely passionate about music and has honed the skill & talent of playing Saxophone. Starting a YouTube channel in this field was yet another milestone for him.
