India, with its vast coastal area, offers immense opportunities for fisheries in both marine and inland waters. The fisheries sector is a means of livelihood for millions of people in the country. Andhra Pradesh has made significant contributions to the country's fish basket in recent years, owing to an effective strategy in both coastal and freshwater aquaculture and marketing. Inland fish production is 6.8 lakh tons, with pond aquaculture yielding around 3.5 tons/ha/ year, which is higher than the national average. Further, by virtue of its 974 km long coastline, the state produces 2.97 lakh tons of marine fish annually.

"When I sought to launch my own business in the sector, I observed that people used the same product whether cattle, poultry, or fish. Whatever the products, we ensure to meet the professors and nutritionists of the specific industry, and then only try to develop a product that is backed by cutting-edge technology, which has been the major driving source for the company,” says Mahidhar Bolem, Founder & Managing Director.
Mahidhar Bolem's primary Objective as he advances ahead is To boost Marsco Nutraceuticals As the most preferred animal & Aquaculture health care solutions Globally & locally
Successful Leaders Push through Adversity
According to Mahidhar Bolem, there were many roadblocks as he ventured on the Entrepreneur journey, including finance, human resources, and the manufacturing process. To begin the manufacturing process, one must have some innovative products; otherwise, the farmer/dealer will only discuss the price factor. The main challenge for Mahidhar Bolem was to incorporate innovative technology into its products while maintaining product quality. To ensure the product's quality, he ascertained that the raw material source was of high quality and that the manufacturing process was carefully vetted. He invested a lot in his commitment to keeping the quality high. The major challenge was sustaining and maintaining those commitments with integrity, and Mahidhar Bolem did not back down from keeping his word, which led to the company's success and excellence in the aquaculture & animal husbandry industry.
"In aquaculture, one of the biggest challenges is to claim costs because it is a highly unorganized sector. No one knows who we are at first, and we need to make a name for ourselves in the industry. To get content on our products, we must give credit to the farmers. As a result, we initially lost money in this endeavor. However, we later streamlined our payment policies and reduced our prices to be more affordable to farmers,” adds Mahidhar Bolem.
Mahidhar Bolem's primary objective as he advances ahead is to boost Marsco Nutraceuticals as the most preferable company in the animal and aquaculture sector and does not believe in the number game, competing to be on the top. Rather, he wants farmers to view Marsco as their best preferable company as their go-to option. “To all the young, upcoming budding entrepreneurs who aspire to be business leaders in the future should have a never give up and honest attitude. Every startup will not be successful, but that doesn't mean it's the end. Sometimes plans and strategies fail, but it doesn't mean that you are failed,” concludes Mahidhar Bolem.
