According to Straits research, fish farming is expected to grow at a CAGR of 5.4 percent for the next ten years. While fish farmers are continuously catering to the rising demand for fish, most of them are finding it hard to keep the fish free from pollution and chemical exposure. In a time where land availability has become such a problem and expensive, labour is scarce, water availability is lesser day by day taking up fish farming is a huge risk. To solve this issue, Kranthi Raj, a passionate entrepreneur is on a mission to revolutionize the fish farming word with Kravis Aqua. Having been in the healthcare and pathology space for a long time now, he is well-positioned to address the existing issue in the aqua cultural space.Kranti Raj holds a bachelors in MBBS and Masters in otolaryngology and has also bagged a master’s of science in pathology certificate from New York Medical college. He has worked in various companies at the top level, and is currently leading Kravis Aqua towards success.
Bridging Gaps with Kravis Aqua
Similar to land animals, when large quantities of fish are grown in a piece of land the wastes produced from them will be uncontrolled, and the water gets contaminated, and the fish gets infected with viruses and other diseases. This not only impacts the business output but also affects human health and causes ecological concerns. The race to produce more fish per sq mtr of land space has resulted in increased use of chemicals to make water sterile and pest free. But the water and land are getting polluted because of that and traces of chemicals are seen in the fish and eventually landing in the consumers. There has been an increase in number of rejections for Indian fishes by importers due to increase in chemicals, antibiotic and pesticide traces in them.
The best solution for the problem is a system that automatically filters the water from the wastes generated by the fish and keeps the water clean that limits the potential exposure and spread of waterborne pathogens. Having said that, Kranthi Raj and his team have established
Kravis Aqua to establish chemical free Fish Factories by producing 100 times more fish compared to traditional methods without harming Environment. “We are a pioneer in the country who is committed to helping farmers set up indoor, high-density, organic recirculating aquaculture fish farms,” states Kranti Raj. Today, Kravis Aqua is a renowned name in the aquaculture industry that offers India’s first commercial chemical free, ultra-high density recirculating aquaculture systems to develop successful fish farming operations.
Even though aquaculture has been around for over forty years, the implementation of innovative technologies in India took a back seat. This could be because of a lack of skills, budget, and expertise in aquaculture. Even though the technology was available for importing from European and Chinese companies, the setup was too expensive making the project unviable and hence People did not show interest in it. Kravis Aqua has changed this scenario by bringing in indigenous products and designs, partnering with local manufacturers, and fabricating all aspects needed for aquaculture setups. We are able to reduce the set-up cost of the entire project from seven lakhs per ton of fish to about 2.5 lakhs per ton and yet on par with all international companies.
Improving the Efficiency of Producing Quality Fishes
Kravis Aqua, a reliable Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS) system provider, ensures cost effectiveness and energy efficiency against environmental impact and the needs of the fish for optimal growth. Though there are only a few RAS system providers in the world today, none can provide a complete service like Kravis Aqua’s principal, from design, equipment supply, installation, staff training, feed and fingerling supply to management of intricate fish biology.
“Since our inception, we have been instrumental in designing, installing, and maintaining cost-efficient and sustainable aquaculture systems. We manufacture the components and products required for an aquaculture farm in-house to maintain a rigid control over the quality. This helps bring down the cost of the entire system. Our team also conducts workshops to train people in the setting up and running of an RAS fish farm,” asserts Raj.
Kravis Aqua has been awarded by the central minister for fisheries in Delhi for the innovative technologies they have brought in
By offering quality services, the company has bagged dozens of clients and projects across the country. Recently, we have finished the largest Rainbow trout farm for ‘Smart green Aquaculture pvt ltd ‘in Hyderabad that produces 400Tons. This is almost half of what the whole country produces from just a unit that is about an acre size. Another 100 tons per annum Seabass fish was recently handover to client and now they recently got the largest RAS project in the country for establishing a farm for consortium of fish farmers in Tripura assisted by the Fisheries dept of Tripura.
Kravis Aqua has been awarded by the central minister for fisheries in Delhi for the innovative technologies they have brought in. “Our mission is to help farmers produce and supply fresh, live and chemical-free fish that are cultivated in land based ultra-high-density Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS) round the year in every nook and corner of the country,” concludes Kranthi Raj.
