Mumbai-based healthy snacks brand Epigamia has promoted founder and chief operating officer (COO) Rahul Jain to CEO. He succeeds Rohan Mirchandani, another founder, who is currently the chairman. Ankur Goel, a founding member of Epigamia who has been managing the company with its supply chain and business intelligence functions, has been promoted as COO.
In his new role as CEO, Jain will drive the company's entire business, create unique ideas in the FMCG space, develop strategies to stay competitive, identify new opportunities and drive innovation, Epigamia said in a press release.
An alumnus of IIT-Bombay and Indian Business School-Hyderabad, Jain began his career in finance working in the credit structuring group at Deutsche Bank. After completing his MBA, he launched Doctor Moo, an organic milk brand, and then partnered with Mirchandani to launch Epigamia.
Over the previous year, Epigamia has undertaken strategic measures to streamline its cost structure across diverse functions, leading to significantly improved profit margins, the company said.
The brand retails via 20,000-plus touchpoints in more than 30 towns. Its products are also available at modern trade chains like DMart, Reliance, Nature's Basket and More; e-commerce platforms such as Big Basket, Swiggy Instamart, Amazon, Zepto and BlinkIt.
