Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) has promoted CEO Karan Adani to the post of Managing Director, which Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani has filled. Gautam Adani was appointed CEO of APSEZ, one of the world's leading integrated transport facilities.
During his tenure as CEO, under the leadership of Karan Adani, Adani Ports witnessed remarkable growth and contributed significantly to land and infrastructure development.
He started his career with the Adani Group in 2009 at Mundra Port. Since becoming CEO in 2016, the Adani Ports portfolio has increased with new ports and terminals, four in India (one in Sri Lanka and one in Israel).
Through acquisitions and strategic partnerships, Adani Ports is India's largest and fastest-growing independent port developer, with 14 ports in India, its coast, and two offshore ports.
The board also approved the appointment of Ashwani Gupta, former global executive director of Nissan Motor Co., as the new CEO of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zones.
