Union Minister Pralhad Joshi has proposed the creation of a task force in collaboration with the Ministry of Power to bolster efforts in achieving India’s ambitious target of 500 GW renewable energy capacity by 2030. Addressing an event in Bhubaneswar, the minister emphasized the need for strategic collaboration among industry players, stakeholders, and government bodies to ensure timely progress towards this goal. India has already achieved 212 GW of energy generation from non-fossil fuel sources, indicating significant progress and positioning the country to exceed the 2030 target.
India’s push for renewable energy aligns with its international commitments to combat climate change and reduce dependency on fossil fuels, showcasing its leadership in the global transition to clean energy.

"Joshi also expressed optimism regarding the commitments made during the RE-Invest Summit, which collectively amount to over Rs 32 lakh crore and 540 GW of renewable energy projects," the statement said.
