DBS Bank India has disclosed two high-level appointments for essential business roles. Ambuj Chandna has been appointed as managing director and leader of the consumer banking group.
Chandna, previously the president and head of consumer assets at Kotak Mahindra Bank, succeeds Prashant Joshi. Santanu Mitra, the previous managing director and leader of digital economy and institutional banking at DBS Bank Singapore, assumes the position of managing director and country head for corporate banking (large and midcap) at DBS Bank India.
Chandna and Mitra will report to Rajat Verma, the managing director and chief executive officer of DBS Bank India.
“India is one of our key markets, and over more than three decades in the country, the franchise has evolved, achieving a steady growth trajectory in recent years," said Verma. “The new leadership appointments will enable us to continue the strong momentum of the bank in India, leveraging our digital expertise, the physical distribution and our Asian network to serve our customers more holistically.”
Chandna possesses close to thirty years of professional experience. In his new position, he will manage the bank's retail banking activities, wealth services (DBS Treasures), digital banking, and customer interactions to enhance the bank’s consumer banking operations.
