Take us through your educational journey and prior industry experience that equipped you with the required capability to succeed in business.
I come from a small village where I completed my schooling. Subsequently, I pursued a Bachelor's degree at Guru Nanak College in Dhanbad and later earned my LLB degree. However, I embarked on a different path after a brief stint in the legal profession, realizing it wasn't my calling. In the year 2000, I initiated my entrepreneurial journey with a modest 1 lakh rupee loan, venturing into trading within the food industry. Thereafter, I engaged in trading activities, procuring products from various food industries and supplying them to small retailers. I was meticulous in delivering even a single packet, aiming to build a reputation where people in Dhanbad would associate me with quality flour-related products.

In 2014, an opportunity arose with one of the food industries I had been trading with. I forged a partnership and successfully managed a plant for five years. However, my aspiration for growth led me to join Govindam Food Products, where I currently serve as the Director. Leveraging my marketing expertise and enduring customer relationships built over 25 years, Govindam Food Products has risen to become a leading brand in Dhanbad.
What are the most important business challenges that you face today in your current role? How do you overcome them?
Since my journey with Govindam began, I've realized that the flour industry constantly presents new challenges and opportunities for learning. Being a vital part of the food industry, it's a daily essential. I firmly believe that whatever you do, you need to have a profound passion and love for your work. Further, a successful business demands a visionary approach focused on working without undue pressure, but rather in a poised manner to avert chaos and secure success.
How do you inspire your workforce to perform better. What is your guiding leadership philosophy?
As a business leader, I draw inspiration from the esteemed figure Pandurang Shastri Athavale, known for his significant social reforms and numerous accolades. According to his philosophy, we are granted ease in our work by a higher authority, allowing us to function responsibly and efficiently. Consequently, I encourage my team not to view me as their traditional boss. The ultimate authority lies above us. We work together, each with our respective responsibilities, fostering a culture of honesty, diligence, and respect. By adhering to these principles, we've achieved substantial growth and prominence.
How do you keep yourself well-aligned with the periodic advancements happening in the industry? How do you adapt to those developments?<

Our ultimate goal in the food industry is to provide the highest-quality products at affordable prices, promoting a healthy lifestyle. We strictly adhere to industry guidelines and regulations. Additionally, we consistently update our product quality, packaging, design, and other aspects to meet evolving industry requirements. The vision required to lead a successful business should be free from undue pressure, as pressured work often leads to chaos. My ultimate goal is not only personal success but enabling others to succeed alongside me. I aim to grow in harmony with Govindam and all its stakeholders. Our motto is not merely to make Govindam a product but a renowned brand. We are working diligently to make Govindam a household name across India. The future looks promising as we continue to grow successfully, with plans to launch a sister concern, establish a new plant, and venture into other sectors.
